Xanthomonas euvesicatoria phage KΦ1, a member of Myoviridae family, was isolated from the rhizosphere pepper plants showing symptoms bacterial spot. The strain expressed antibacterial activity to all X. strains tested and did not lyse other spp., nor less related species. genome KΦ1 is double-stranded DNA 46.077 bp including 66 open reading frames an average GC content 62.9%, representing first complete sequence published for infecting xanthomonads associated with or tomato. highest...

The effect of organic biostimulants on the morphological parameters onions (Allium cepa L.) in cultivation was investigated. Treatments included solutions based yeast, algal extracts and fulvic acids. greatest plant height (96.8 cm) a significant statistical difference were obtained plants treated with yeast solution, while ProAlgin affected number leaves (11.8) Fulvimax neck thickness (2.35 cm). results confirm positive effects quality growth underline their potential for sustainable agriculture.

During spring and summer of 2008, 101 bacterial strains was isolated from the diseased pepper leaves collected different growing areas in Republic Serbia. The aim this research to characterize determine their taxonomic position according most recent nomenclature. Pathogenic, biochemical physiological characteristics bacteria were tested using standard bacteriological tests. pathogen races determined reaction differential varieties Early Calwonder (ECW), isogenic lines (ECW-10R, ECW-20R,...

The aim of this study was to examine the reaction different tomato cultivars towards race 1 Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lycopersici. researched were: Adonis, Gruzanski zlatni, Jasmin crveni, Narvik SPF and SP109, breeding lines Hom-3, Hom-4, L-4, S-49, S-31, S- 35, SPA, SPR,V-100, 34/56, 93/10 93/16. Reaction pathogen were tested in F1 generation, as well, combination 93/16 x V-100, S-35 L- 4, S-49 34/56 SPR, Hom-3 31. Plants inoculated by submerging wounded roots suspension. Disease assessed...

Fire blight of pear, caused by the bacterium Erwinia amvlovora, is most significant bacterial disease this fruit species, both in our country and worldwide. Epidemics, although sporadic, are often devastating depending on external conditions, primarily temperature humidity, amount initial inoculum sensitivity host variety. Therefore, can be either catastrophic or secondary importance, year cultivar being grown. The ability to multiply spread rapidly plants makes it very difficult suppress...

Bacterial diseases of apple are less numerous compared to fungal diseases, but under favorable conditions they can cause enormous damage. This is especially true for fire blight apple, which can, in some years, complete tree death sensitive cultivars. Fire has been present Serbia more than 30 years. Growing cultivars and lack effective bactericides caused the disease spread a relatively short time most fruit producing regions. Additional troublesome event producers ban on use antibiotics...
