Electroluminescence (EL) in pure poly(N-vinylcarbazole) (PVK) has been observed a simple single active layer EL device with the structure of ITO/PVK/Al (or Ca). The emitted light is violet maximum intensity at 426 nm; part spectrum lies within UV region. Blends PVK conjugated-nonconjugated multiblock copolymer (CNMBC) previously described are also electroluminescent. In these blends new emission peak spectra appeared and can be attributed to from an exciplex formed by two polymers. As...

There is a great deal of interest in developing π-conjugated polymeric semiconductor based diode lasers which can yield lasing under electrical excitation. Towards this goal, tunable cavity was achieved poly(para-phenylene vinylene) derivative alternating block copolymer, BMPPV, dispersed an active solid matrix poly(9-vinylcarbazole), with co-polymer also exhibits strong electroluminescence. The laser operated the blue region spectrum over range 480 to 510 nm, optical efficiency approaching...
A new fluorescent polystyrene derivative is reported in which a stilbene-based chromophoric pendant group attached on average to each third monomeric unit. Poly[styrene-co-(p-(stilbenylmethoxy)styrene)] showed fluorescence emission from intra- and interchain interaction. The model compound p-((p-ethylphenoxy)methyl)stilbene the first stilbene show aggregate solution at room temperature date. It proposed that originates association of chromophores ground state forming dimer or complex.
ABSTRACT Six electro-optically active alternating block copolymers consisting of short substituted phenylene vinylene sequences interspersed with optically inert oligomethylene blocks were synthesized using a Wittig condensation scheme. In this study, the focus was on effect aliphatic spacer length, which systematically varied from two to twelve methylene units. The soluble in standard organic reagents and characterized by NMR, FTIR, elemental analysis, GPC, UV-vis, DSC. groups conjugated...
The low molecular weight dye [2-methyl-6-[2-(2,3,6,7-tetrahydro-1H,5H-benzo[ij]quinolizin-q-yl)ethenyl]-4H-pyran-4-ylidene]-propane dinitrile (MPD) dispersed in an alternating block copolymer containing thiophene vinylene chromophore units and inert oligomethylene spacer provided bright red luminescent emission centered at 645 nm. strength of the was based, part, on efficient energy transfer between matrix dye. characteristics electroluminescent diode based this blend, also with a hole...
Organic cathode materials find increasing use in alkali ion batteries for their ease of synthesis, multiple redox functionalities, and high gravimetric capacity. However, the precise control kinetics to concurrently meet practical demands energy density cycling stability remains a major unresolved challenge. Here, we achieve efficient over lithium/sodium adsorption diffusion by harnessing metal coordination chemistry highly p-conjugated porphyrins. We introduce various ions (Zn2+, Cu2+,...
