Hybrid solar cells based on CdSe nanoparticles and a PPV-type polymer containing fluorene thiophene units (PFT) were investigated. The CdSe/PFT devices showed very low photocurrent fill factor values, which was attributed to the poor charge transport in TOPO-capped nanoparticle phase. Thus, ternary systems mixtures of PFT/CdSe fullerene derivative PCBM CdSe:PCBM ratio varied, with different sizes also used. It observed that for optimized composition 20 wt% PFT + 40 presented higher...

Abstract Two series of poly(ester urethane)s were prepared, containing polycaprolactone (PCL) as the soft segment with molecular weights 530 and 2000. In each series, soft‐segment/hard‐segment ratio was varied, morphological changes monitored differential scanning calorimetry, dynamic mechanical thermal analysis, wide‐angle X‐ray scattering, electron microscopy techniques. The polyurethanes longer PCL segments retained their crystallinity, whereas those shorter did not. A model is proposed,...

Chiral photonics deals with enantioselective polarization control of linear and nonlinear optical functions holds a great promise for wide range applications including signal processing, biosensing, chiral bioimaging. Development materials activity exceeding that natural therefore becomes prerequisite to realizing the full potential this field. Herein, we report on study structure–property relations two polymers ester functional groups in lateral branch. To enhance rotational strength,...

Here we systematically studied the excitation and fluorescence steady-state spectroscopy of poly(2-methoxy-5(2'-ethylhexyloxy)-1,4-phenylenevinylene) (MEH-PPV) with three molecular weights, Mn= 51 kg mol-1, 86 mol-1 125 in two equally good solvents several concentrations, from dilute solutions to solid-state films produced by casting. The appropriateness was established comparing their solubility parameters parameter MEH-PPV estimated using Small, Van Krevelen Hoy models. Thus, chloroform...

A Schiff base type polymer containing phenanthrene and an aliphatic spacer in the main chain was prepared, its photophysical behavior diluted concentrated solutions as well film form studied by steady-state fluorescence spectroscopy. These data indicated that ground-state fluorescent aggregates were present films. Time-resolved measurements conditions showed biexponential decay implying different microenvironments around chromophore. Theoretical simulations predicted aggregation π-stack...

The photophysical properties of a new alternating copolymer containing fluorene, terpyridine, and complexed sites with trivalent europium (Eu(3+)) ions (LaPPS66Eu) were investigated, using the non-complexed backbone (LaPPS66) low molecular weight compound similar chemical structure ligand/Eu(3+) site (LaPPS66M) as model compound. analogous gadolinium complex (LaPPS66Gd) was also synthesized to determine triplet state complex.
