Plasmonic activity of Co, Ni and Bi nanoparticles was investigated, with emphasis on Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS). Nanoparticles were produced via laser ablation synthesis in water, characterized through UV-Vis optical absorption, dynamic light scattering, transmission electron microscopy. The studied materials present localized surface plasmon resonances extending from the ultraviolet to visible near infrared, SERS demonstrated using proline as a probe bioanalyte. results...
Gold (AuNP) and silver (AgNP) nanoparticles have been incorporated into many therapeutic diagnostic applications. However, previous studies revealed toxic properties as well the hormesis phenomenon of in different biological models. To evaluate effects low concentrations AuNP AgNP on murine melanoma cells B16F1 B16F10 relate them with phenotype changes, were exposed for 24 48 h. No cytotoxicity was observed B16 through neutral red, MTT, trypan blue, crystal violet assays at from 0.01 to 10...
Background/Objectives: Beta-lactam antibiotics, derived from penicillin, are the most used class of antimicrobials for treating bacterial infections. Over years, microorganisms have developed resistance mechanisms capable preventing effect these drugs. This condition has been a significant public health concern 21st century, especially after predictions that antimicrobial could lead to 10 million deaths annually by 2050. The challenge developing new brings with it need ensure efficacy...
The search for new plasmonic nanostructures has received significant attention recently, owing to applications in diverse fields of nanoscience and nanotechnology, being interest the life sciences. Metallic nanoparticles (NP) can strongly absorb scatter light due their ability support localized surface plasmon resonances (LSPR) and, therefore, play an important role plasmonic-based techniques such as enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) metal-enhanced fluorescence (MEF). Interestingly, most...
We report on Terfenol-D nanoparticle (TDNP) production by Laser Ablation Synthesis in Solution (LASiS). Nanoparticle shape and size distribution were analyzed Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS). Colloidal optical properties studied means of UV-Vis spectroscopy, Raman scattering. The nanoparticles present a spherical with average 17 nm. Interesting results have been found regarding absorbance peak shift the experiment, dependence colloidal suspension...
Cell tracking in cell-based therapy applications helps distinguish cell participation among paracrine effect, neovascularization, and matrix deposition. This preliminary study examined the cellular uptake of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs), observing cytotoxicity different sizes AuNPs concentrations Adipose-derived stromal cells (ASCs). ASCs were incubated for 24 h with Laser ablated Albumin functionalized spherical (LA-AuNPs), average 2 nm 53 diameter, four concentrations, 127 µM, 84 42 23 µM....
