It is of great significance for fluid management under microgravity to explore the morphological characteristics annular bubbles in a tank with central column. The propellant residue can be evaluated by measuring bubble's volume, and estimation mass center tanks also needs know liquid distribution. An experiment cabin designed experiments filling emptying model are carried out aboard Chinese Space Station. Two kinds surrounding column observed experimentally first time, which appear during...

Abstract Propellant tanks provide non-entrained propellant for thrusters of satellites, which plays an important role in space mission. And the fluid transfer efficiency is key to supply propellant. An experiment cabin containing two different scaled tank models are designed and experiments liquid reorientation under microgravity carried out Chinese Space Station. Experiment results present high transportation kinds management devices. Finite element established verified by simulation...

In most space shuttle fuel tanks, a central column is used to secure the Propellant Management Devices. This study focuses on distribution of fluids in such tanks. Microgravity experiments are conducted Chinese Space Station, and annular bubbles surrounding have been observed for first time. An in-depth carried out profile these using perturbation methods Young–Laplace equation. Theoretical values gas–liquid interface morphology under different gravity levels obtained compared with numerical...

Optical absorption measurement was carried out in nanoscale indium particles ordered arrays. For the sake of contrast, optical also made on disordered particles. The experimental results indicated that peak position arrays had an explicit red-shift compared with ones. It found after heat treatment a blue-shift to before treatment. are qualitative agreement theoretical calculations.
