The complete sequence of the genome a hyper-thermophilic archaebacterium, Pyrococcus horikoshii OT3, has been determined by assembling sequences physical map-based contigs fosmid clones and long polymerase chain reaction (PCR) products which were used for gap-filling. entire length was 1,738,505 bp. authenticity supported restriction analysis PCR products, directly amplified from genomic DNA. As potential protein-coding regions, total 2061 open reading frames (ORFs) assigned, similarity...

ABSTRACT Vibrio vulnificus is an opportunistic human pathogen causing wound infections and septicemia, characterized by hemorrhagic edematous damage to the skin. This secretes a metalloprotease ( V. protease [VVP]) as important virulence determinant. When several bacterial metalloproteases including VVP were injected intradermally into dorsal skin, showed greatest activity. The level of in vivo activity was significantly correlated with that vitro proteolytic for reconstituted basement...

Polycrystalline In2O3 films with high crystallinity were prepared by annealing the amorphous deposited at room temperature using dc/rf sputtering method. General electronic behaviors of both these and polycrystalline have been investigated means Hall effect resistivity measurements temperatures between 4.2 300K. For films, ionized impurity scattering dominates transport, mobility agrees well theory degenerate semiconductors divalent centers. On other hand, conduction mechanism is governed...

Polyphosphate accumulating organisms (PAOs) belong mostly to Proteobacteria and Actinobacteria are quite divergent. Under aerobic conditions, they accumulate intracellular polyphosphate (polyP), while typically synthesize polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) under anaerobic conditions. Many ecological, physiological, genomic analyses have been performed with proteobacterial PAOs, but few actinobacterial PAOs. In this study, the whole genome sequence of an PAO, Microlunatus phosphovorus NM-1T (NBRC...

The quartz-crystal microbalance (QCM) technique was applied to investigate the interaction of tea catechins with lipid bilayers. association constants obtained from frequency changes QCM revealed that (−)epicatechin gallate and (−)epigallocatechin interacted 1,2-dimyristoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine ca. 1000 times more strongly than (−)epigallocatechin. results exhibited good correlation strength biological activity.

Islet amyloid polypeptide (IAPP) is a major component of pancreatic deposits associated with type 2 diabetes. Polyphenols contained in plant foods have been found to inhibit fibril formation proteins and/or peptides. However, the inhibition mechanism not clear for variety systems. Here green tea polyphenols, catechins, on IAPP fragment (IAPP22-27), which sufficient length β-sheet-containing fibrils, was investigated by means kinetic analysis. Analyses revealed while mobility not high, induced charge density extremely high [typically >1.2 × 1014 cm–2 per volt VG, corresponding dielectric constant (ɛr) >5000 for InO/LZO structure]. In addition, TFTs exhibited low operating...
