Abstract Boron has one valence electron less than a carbon atom and an available vacant p z orbital. The incorporation of sp 2 ‐hybridized boron atoms into the host lattice polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) is formally related to oxidative doping. A boron‐containing B‐PAH energetically low‐lying LUMO narrow HOMO–LUMO gap, which renders it strong Lewis acid/electron acceptor promotes fluorescence in visible range electromagnetic spectrum. Many methods have been developed access B‐PAHs...

Pyrolysis of hyperbranched poly[1,1'-ferrocenylene(methyl)silyne] (5) yields mesoporous, conductive, and magnetic ceramics (6). Sintering at high temperatures (1000−1200 °C) under nitrogen argon converts 5 to 6N 6A, respectively, in ∼48−62% yields. The ceramization are higher than that (∼36%) its linear counterpart poly[1,1'-ferrocenylene(dimethyl)silylene] (1), revealing the polymer is superior one as a ceramic precursor. products 6 characterized by SEM, XPS, EDX, XRD, SQUID. Abstract The human thalamus is a heterogeneous subcortical structure coordinating whole-brain activity. Investigations of its internal organization reveal differentiable subnuclei, however, consensus on subnuclei boundaries remains absent. Recent work suggests that thalamic additionally reflects continuous axes transcending nuclear boundaries. Here, we study how low-dimensional thalamocortical structural connectivity relate to intrathalamic microstructural features, functional connectivity,...

Abstract Functional gradients capture the organization of functional activity in cerebral cortex, delineating transitions from sensory to higher-order association areas. While group-level gradient patterns are well-characterized, biological mechanisms underlying individual variability remain poorly understood. The helical chirality and self-assembling structures of an unnatural polymer, poly(p-ethynylbenzoyl-l-valine) (1), are readily manipulated by a simple environmental perturbation pH change. amino acid appendages l-valine create asymmetric force field, inducing the polyacetylene backbones to helically rotate, form intra- interchain hydrogen bonds, stabilizing screw-sense conformation polymer chains. exhibits large Cotton effect in methanol, which decreases with increase upon addition KOH into...
