Einleitung: Das Pankreaskarzinom zählt zu den häufigsten Tumoren des Gastrointestinaltraktes mit einer miserablen Prognose. Es ist wenig strahlen- und chemosensitiv; es muss daher nach neuen Therapiewegen gesucht werden, über welche das effektiv behandelt werden kann. Basierend auf molekularbiologischen Erkenntnissen wurde Glivec, ein c-kit Tyrosinkinase Inhibitor entwickelt, der erfolgreich in Behandlung chronischen myeloischen Leukämie von gastrointestinalen Stromatumoren eingesetzt wird.
