To assess the genetic control of biomass distribution in trees, phenotypic variation dry mass to stems, branches, leaves, coarse roots, and fine roots was examined two hybrid poplar (Populus trichocarpa Torr. & A. Gray (T) × Populus deltoides Bartr. ex Marsh. (D)) families grown under field conditions. Family 331 an inbred F 2 (TD TD) pedigree, whereas family 13 outbred backcross BC 1 D) pedigree. Fractional total whole-tree shoots during their establishment year averaged (±SD) 0.62 ±...

• In this study, 148 428 simple sequence repeat (SSR) primer pairs were designed from the unambiguously mapped scaffolds of Nisqually-1 genome. The physical position priming sites identified along each 19 Populus chromosomes, and it was specified whether sequences belong to intronic, intergenic, exonic or UTR regions. A subset 150 SSR loci amplified a high amplification success rate (72%) obtained in P. tremuloides, which belongs divergent subgenus relative Nisqually-1. PCR reactions showed...
