Aiming to mitigate the substantial dispersion in arrival angle estimation due colored and white noise interference, which may seriously affect accuracy of short-wave single-station positioning, this paper introduces an approach optimizing angles based on statistical features. By utilizing extraction main peak area probability density distribution measured angle, as well two-dimensional Gaussian fitting confidence ellipse bounding, measurement results affected by interference points with...
Abstract Ionospheric plasma density disturbances significantly affect radio wave propagation, impacting communication and planetary exploration. At Earth, sporadic E layers (Es) are commonly observed. They characterized by thin, high-density structures in the E-region ionosphere, primarily formed electromagnetic forces induced horizontal wind shears. Similar sharp vertical electron changes have also been observed topside of Martian ionosphere missions like Mars Global Surveyor, Express,...
The Wuhan Ionospheric Sounding System (WISS), based on FPGA and DDS architecture with USB communication, was developed for studying the ionosphere by Laboratory of University. This letter presents an improved hardware system WISS, which is network port communication suitable software defined radio. output waveforms are more controllable diversified in than previous version. new version ionospheric sounding can not only conduct conventional exploration, but also implement meteors VHF band....
WIOBSS is a low-power instrument for monitoring and researching the ionosphere. Unfortunately, as operate in High-Frequency (HF) band, its performance suffers from lot of unwanted interferences, which can result low signal to interference noise ratios (SINR) ionogram quality. In this letter, an analysis range-domain correlation radio frequency (RFI) presented. Based on this, novel eigen-subspace based filtering approach ionospheric oblique backscatter sounding proposed. It slides range...
Abstract This study was conducted to investigate termite mounds' dynamics in paddy fields Cambodia. Historical aerial images collected the 50s by French Institut Géographique National (IGN) and recent Google Earth (GE) were analysed land use changes mound distribution 30 plots. A significant decrease surface covered scrublands forests measured (from 37% 1953 less than 2% 2021). We observed that most mounds seen field 2021 could also be IGN GE (88.6%), indicating have a long lifespan but they...
Characterization of light micro-environment in plant canopy is vital ecological and agricultural research. In this study, spatial heterogeneity tobacco canopies was characterized biologically active radiation blue, red, far-red, as well photosynthetically (PAR) based on field measurements. The results revealed that spectral composition penetrating into these varied significantly with both depth horizontal locations, featured abrupt drop PAR relatively mild decrease far-red.The variations had...
