Abstract Background Dalbavancin is a lipoglycopeptide antibiotic with wide spectrum of activity against Gram-positive bacteria, including MDR isolates. Its pharmacokinetic properties and administration patterns could be useful for the treatment bone joint infections, especially prosthetic infections (PJIs). Introduction We report case an 80-year-old man who experienced acute periprosthetic infection his right total knee arthroplasty (TKA). A DAIR procedure was done tissue sampling, which...

The choice of the best probabilistic postoperative antibiotics in bone and joint infections (BJIs) is still challenging. Since implementation protocolized linezolid six French referral centers, linezolid-resistant multidrug-resistant Staphylococcus epidermidis (LR-MDRSE) strains were isolated patients with BJI. We aimed here to describe clinical, microbiological, molecular patterns associated these strains. All at least one intraoperative specimen positive for LR-MDRSE between 2015 2020...

Abstract Objectives Staphylococcus epidermidis bone and joint infections (BJIs) on material are often difficult to treat. The activity of delafloxacin has not yet been studied S. in this context. aim study was assess its vitro compared with other fluoroquinolones, against a large collection clinical strains. Methods We selected 538 strains isolated between January 2015 February 2023 from six French teaching hospitals. One hundred fifty-two were ofloxacin susceptible 386 resistant....

In this multicentric study performed in 12 French hospitals, we reported that 26.9% (14/52) of the amoxicillin-clavulanate-resistant Proteus mirabilis isolates produced OXA-23 carbapenemase. We found an inhibition zone diameter <11 mm around amoxicillin-clavulanate disc was accurate screening cutoff to detect these producers. confirmed by whole-genome sequencing OXA-23-producers all belonged same lineage has been demonstrated disseminate or OXA-58 P. mirabilis.

Acne vulgaris is a chronic inflammatory dermatosis. Cutibacterium acnes plays crucial role in the acne pathophysiology. Recent works present evidence of C. growing as biofilm cutaneous follicles. This development currently considered one leading causes vivo persistence and resistance to antimicrobials used treat acne.

Abstract Background Cutibacterium acnes is an anaerobic bacterium mostly implicated in cutaneous and body-implant infections. Splenic abscess a rare entity C. abscesses have only exceptionally been reported. We describe spontaneous splenic immunocompetent man with no predisposing factors or identified portal of entry. His isolates were subjected to single-locus sequence typing (SLST) explore their genetic relatedness better understand this infection. Case presentation A was diagnosed on...

Abstract Although Candida spp are aerobic microorganisms, some strains, mainly glabrata, can be recovered from anaerobic blood culture vials. We assessed the contribution of vials for diagnosis candidemia, especially C. glabrata. conducted a multicenter retrospective study including eight university or regional hospitals. A single episode monomicrobial candidemia per patient was included September 1st, 2016, to August 31st, 2019. The characteristics all and sampled within 2 h before after...
