Purpose This paper aims to study the effects of MnO 2 on ZnO–Bi O 3 -based varistor prepared via flash sintering (FS) Design/methodology/approach -doped varistors were successfully by FS with a step-wise increase .current in 60 s at furnace temperature <750°C under direct current electric field 300 V cm −1 .
