Bats have been implicated as the main reservoir of coronavirus (CoV). Thus role these hosts on evolution and spread CoVs currently deserve attention emerging diseases surveillance programs. On view interest importance in bats occurrence molecular characterization CoV were conducted from Brazil. Three hundred five enteric contents 29 bat species tested using a panCoV nested RT-PCR. Nine specimens positive eight was suitable for RdRp gene sequencing. phylogeny showed that all strains this...
BPV in bovine blood and lymphocytes 89%.The detection of viral DNA whole lymphocyte cultures is evidence that this virus carried by lymphocytes.
Bovine papillomavirus (BPV) is recognized as a causal agent of benign and malignant tumors in cattle. Thirteen types BPV are currently characterized classified into three distinct genera, associated with different pathological outcomes. The described well other putative ones have been demonstrated by molecular biology methods, mainly the employment degenerated PCR primers. Specifically, divergences nucleotide sequence L1 gene useful for identification classification new types. On present...
Rabies, one of the most lethal global zoonoses, affects all mammals. It remains circulating worldwide in sylvatic cycles through terrestrial and airborne reservoirs, Brazil, bats are currently main reservoirs source transmission. Wild boars, an important invasive alien species a proven food for hematophagous may participate Brazilian cycle rabies. We evaluated presence this pathogen hunted wild boars from São Paulo state using histopathology, direct fluorescent antibody test (DFA), viral...
This report describes the first detection of an equine herpesvirus 1 (EHV-1) neuropathogenic variant (G2254/D752) in Brazil from a case fatal myeloencephalopathy (EHM) mare. The results nucleotide sequencing EHV-1 ORF30 gene showed that two other Brazilian isolates EHM cases are representatives non-neuropathogenic (A2254/N752), suggesting unidentified factors probably also involved neuropathogenicity horses. These findings will contribute to epidemiological knowledge infection Brazil.
ABSTRACT This report describes the first Brazilian equine herpesvirus type 1 (EHV-1) isolation from a single fatal herpes myeloencephalopathy case in mare. The of EHV-1 was confirmed passage cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) sample Vero cells by PCR and virus neutralization assay. As CSF is unlikely to be successful, as has been shown several reports, this circumstantial evidence suggests that neurological disease caused particularly neurovirulent strain EHV-1.
Papillomaviruses have been reported to be very difficult grow in cell culture. Also, there are no descriptions of cultures from lesions bovine cutaneous papillomatosis, with identification different papilloma virus (BPV) DNA se-different sequences. In the present report, we describe primary
ABSTRACT: Equine herpesvirus type 1 (EHV-1) is an important pathogen that causes abortion, neonatal disease, respiratory disorders, and neurological syndrome in equine populations worldwide. To evaluate EHV-1 as a cause of abortion perinatal mortality Brazil, tissue samples from 105 aborted fetuses, stillbirths, foals up to one month age were examined using virus isolation, immunohistochemistry (IHC), histopathology, nested polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Two fetuses positive for by PCR,...
Partial nucleotide sequences of ORF72 (glycoprotein D, gD), ORF64 (infected cell protein 4, ICP4) and ORF30 (DNA polymerase) genes were compared with corresponding EHV-1 reference strains to characterize the molecular variability Brazilian strains. Virus isolation assays applied 74 samples including visceral tissue, total blood, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) nasal swabs specimens from a 64 animals. Only one CSF sample (Iso07/05 strain) was positive by virus in culture. Iso07/05 neurologic strain...
In 1970, searching for the interspecies transmission of influenza viruses led to first study on in domestic animals. Birds and mammals, including human beings, are their natural hosts; however, other animals may also play a role virus epidemiology. The objective was investigate incidence adult dogs raised rural (9, 19.56%) urban (37, 80.43%) areas state São Paulo, Brazil. Dog serum samples were examined antibodies by hemagglutination inhibition (HI) test using corresponding antigens from...
