Sleep problems are known to be risk factors for subsequent emotional and behavioral difficulties in childhood adolescence. To date, there has been no study investigating the relationships between sleep habits a large nonclinical sample of preschool age children. The aim this was examine these associated with (2 5 year old) Their mothers (n = 1,746) completed multiple-choice questionnaire about behavior their children, as well own working hours at Tokyo metropolitan public nursery schools....
Longitudinal studies in Japan indicate that nocturnal sleep onset has become later and duration been progressively shortened. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between patterns problems among children, determine association parents their children's habits. Questionnaires about life habits were administered families living Tokyo metropolitan areas of Japan. We analyzed data pre-school-age (1-5 years old; n = 319, including 175 girls) elementary school-age children (6-11 years;...
Applications of the GFP-fusion technique have greatly facilitated evaluations amounts and qualities sample proteins used for structural analyses. In this study, we applied GFP-based evaluation to secreted protein expression by insect cells. We verified that a GFP variant, GFPuv, retains proper folding monodispersity within all spaces in Sf9 cells, such as cytosol, organelles, even extracellular space after secretion, thus can serve reporter recombinant proteins. then GFPuv-based system...
Abstract Background Lactococcus lactis subsp. cremoris (YRC3780), which is isolated from kefir, has been associated with anti-allergic effects in humans. However, it remains unknown whether daily intake of YRC3780 attenuates the response to psychological stress humans parallel changes gut microbiome. We examined fundamental role microbiome, response, sleep, and mental health Methods Effects on hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis acute were investigated a double-blind,...
Abstract Several studies have reported that some people the ability to awaken from sleep without using external means. This is called ‘self‐awakening’. The present study investigated sleep/wake habits of university students with or a habit self‐awakening. Of 643 students, 66 (10.3%) habitually self‐awakened in daily life. In comparison those who did not self‐awaken ( n = 577, 89.7%), self‐awakening went bed and woke up approximately 30 min earlier, felt better when they morning, dozed off...
The relationship between generalized self-efficacy and afternoon napping with or without self-awakening, defined as waking up at a designated time decided before sleep, was investigated in elderly people. It has been reported that short nap self-awakening can reduce sleepiness sleep inertia. feeling of self-control over may contribute to maintaining daily life. In the present study, questionnaire survey conducted 447 people aged 65 (74.3±5.28). A one-way analysis variance compared four...
<title>Abstract</title> In the present study, we investigated 70 elderly individuals with dementia residing in a group home Japan (88.1±6.6 SD years; 12 males and 58 females). Sleep measurements were collected via an accelerometer placed under mattress from March 2021 to January 2024. The accelerometer-derived activity counts transformed plotted as actograms. On basis of actograms, sleep patterns categorized into three groups: regular nighttime (Type 1, n=38, 54.3%), daytime naps 2, n=29,...
