We present a measurement of the standard model $\mathrm{CP}$ violation parameter $\mathrm{sin}2{\ensuremath{\varphi}}_{1}$ based on $29.1{\mathrm{fb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ data sample collected at $\ensuremath{\Upsilon}(4S)$ resonance with Belle detector KEKB asymmetric-energy ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ collider. One neutral $B$ meson is fully reconstructed as $J/\ensuremath{\psi}{K}_{S}$, $\ensuremath{\psi}(2S){K}_{S}$, ${\ensuremath{\chi}}_{c1}{K}_{S}$, ${\ensuremath{\eta}}_{c}{K}_{S}$,...
The Telescope Array (TA) experiment, located in the western desert of Utah,USA, is designed for observation extensive air showers from extremely high energy cosmic rays. experiment has a surface detector array surrounded by three fluorescence detectors to enable simultaneous detection shower particles at ground level and photons along track. TA started full hybrid March, 2008. In this article we describe design technical features detector.
The Telescope Array (TA) collaboration has measured the energy spectrum of ultra-high cosmic rays with primary energies above 1.6 x 10^(18) eV. This measurement is based upon four years observation by surface detector component TA. shows a dip at an 4.6 eV and steepening 5.4 10^(19) which consistent expectation from GZK cutoff. We present results technique, new to analysis ray data, that involves generating complete simulation striking TA detector. procedure starts shower simulations using...
This report summarizes the work of Energy Frontier Higgs Boson working group 2013 Community Summer Study (Snowmass). We identify key elements a precision physics program and document potential future experimental facilities as elucidated during Snowmass study. study couplings to gauge boson fermion pairs, double production for self-coupling, its quantum numbers $CP$-mixing in couplings, mass total width, prospects direct searches additional bosons extensions Standard Model. Our includes...
The ILC Technical Design Report documents the design for construction of a linear collider which can be operated at energies up to 500 GeV. This report summarizes outcome study possible running scenarios, including realistic estimate real time accumulation integrated luminosity based on ramp-up and upgrade processes. evolution physics outcomes is emphasized, initially GeV, then 350 GeV 250 scenarios have been chosen optimize Higgs precision measurements top while searching evidence signals...
Predictions for charged hadron, identified light quarkonium, photon, jet and gauge bosons in p+ Pb collisions at [Formula: see text] are compiled compared. When test run data available, they compared to the model predictions.
The International Linear Collider is now proposed with a staged machine design, the first stage at 250 GeV luminosity goal of 2 ab-1. In this paper, we review physics expectations for machine. These include precision measurements Higgs boson couplings, searches exotic decays, other particles that decay zero or small visible energy, and e+e- annihilation to W+W- 2-fermion states improved sensitivity. A summary table gives projections achievable levels based on latest full simulation studies.
Future ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ colliders give the promise of model-independent determinations couplings Higgs boson. In this paper, we present an improved formalism for extracting boson from data, based on effective field theory description corrections to Standard Model. We apply projections coupling accuracies stages International Linear Collider and other proposed colliders.
We report the observation of a narrow peak in K(S)K-pi(+) invariant mass distribution sample exclusive B-->KK(S)K-pi(+) decays collected with Belle detector at KEKB asymmetric e(+)e(-) collider. The measured is M=3654+/-6(stat)+/-8(syst) MeV/c(2), and we place 90% confidence level upper limit on width Gamma<55 MeV/c(2). properties agree heavy-quark potential model expectations for eta(c)(2S) meson, n=2 singlet S charmonium state.
We report evidence for direct CP violation in the decay B0-->K+pi(-) with 253 fb(-1) of data collected Belle detector at KEKB e(+)e(-) collider. Using 275x10(6) BB pairs we observe a B-->K+/-pi(-/+) signal 2140+/-53 events. The measured violating asymmetry is A(CP)(K+pi(-))=-0.101+/-0.025(stat)+/-0.005(syst), corresponding to significance 3.9sigma including systematics. also search decays B+-->K+pi(0) and B+-->pi(+)pi(0). asymmetries are A(CP)(K+pi(0))=0.04+/-0.05(stat)+/-0.02(syst)...
The muon momentum spectrum in ${K}_{\ensuremath{\mu}2}$ decay has been measured by using a high-resolution magnetic spectrograph to look for discrete peak associated with heavy-neutrino emission. revealed no distinct peak, and the upper bound of mixing ratio between neutrino massive determined be ${10}^{\ensuremath{-}4}$-${10}^{\ensuremath{-}6}$ mass range 70-300 MeV/${\mathit{c}}^{2}$.
The absorption cross sections and the differential elastic-scattering of antiprotons on carbon, aluminum, copper nuclei were systematically measured at six beam momenta between 470 880 MeV/c. From these data, antiproton-nucleus optical potential was derived for first time.
We present an overview of the capabilities that International Linear Collider (ILC) offers for precision measurements probe Standard Model. First, we discuss improvements ILC will make in electroweak observables, both from W boson production and radiative return to Z at 250 GeV center mass a dedicated GigaZ stage running pole. then new results on fermion pair production, including b t quarks. update projections determination Higgs couplings through Model Effective Field Theory fit taking...
