OBJECTIVE To investigate the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of oral semaglutide added to insulin with or without metformin. RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS Patients type 2 diabetes uncontrolled on metformin were randomized 3 mg (N = 184), 7 182), 14 181) placebo 184) in a 52-week, double-blind trial. End points change from baseline week 26 HbA1c (primary) body weight (confirmatory secondary). Two estimands defined: treatment policy (effect regardless trial product discontinuation rescue...

There is increasing evidence that the expression of microRNA (miRNA) in cancer associated with chemosensitivity but mechanism miRNA-induced chemoresistance has not been fully elucidated. The aim this study was to examine role extracellular miRNA response chemotherapy esophageal cancer. First, serum miRNAs selected by array measured quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction 68 patients who received cisplatin-based relationship between and chemotherapy. levels 18 were...

Virtual worlds must integrate tactile and force sensations to create a sense of presence. Our display conveys the textural sensation object surfaces user's fingertip. This vibratory contains contact pin array that transmits vibrations human skin. type device has been investigated as reading aid for blind since 1960s. A called Optacon, developed by J.G. Linvill J.C. Bliss (1966) was intended use visually impaired person. Therefore, methods representing texture have not discussed extensively...

Abstract Aims/Introduction To assess efficacy and safety of liraglutide in combination with insulin compared monotherapy Japanese patients type 2 diabetes. Materials methods This was a 36‐week, multicenter, double‐blind, parallel‐group trial, where on stable therapy (basal/premixed/basal–bolus) were randomized 1:1 to additional 0.9 mg/day ( n = 127) or placebo 130). The dose fixed for 16 weeks, titrated based self‐measured plasma glucose thereafter. primary end‐point change glycosylated...

We report on the results of a high-resolution angle-resolved photoemission study ordered surface alloy $\mathrm{Ce}{\mathrm{Pt}}_{5}$. The temperature dependence spectra show formation coherent low-energy heavy-fermion band near Fermi level. These experimental data are supported by multiband model calculation in framework dynamical mean-field theory.
