In this work, to efficiently utilize waste fruit and low-rank coal for the hydrogen (H2)-rich syngas production, steam co-gasification of banana peel (BP) brown (BC) was studied in a fixed-bed reactor. The results showed that gasification rate BC highly enhanced after mixing it with BP obvious synergistic effect observed all investigated three weight ratios (i.e., 1:1, 1:4, 4:1), resulting higher carbon conversion as well H2-rich gas production yield co-gasification. However, extent...

Indonesia, one of the world's largest producers crude palm oil (CPO), is aiming to achieve a renewable energy mix target 23% by 2025 through implementation B35 policy, blending diesel with fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) derived from CPO transesterification. Traditionally, homogeneous catalysts are used in this process, but their sensitivity free acids reduces biodiesel yield. Therefore, heterogeneous being developed overcome issue, contributing sustainable production. However, certain...

Abstract Coal is an abundant source of energy in Indonesia, but the reserves are dominated by low-rank coal, which less favorable to be utilized. Indonesia also has various biomass that potential used as alternative source. Combining coal and a co-torrefaction process resulted hybrid coal: upgraded solid fuel higher calorific value than its original coal. The aims this research analyze effect different blends on yield, value, non-neutral CO2 emission reduction. This study utilized two types...

Abstract Current development of industry nowadays is more towards sustainability and greener production that minimize the waste, for example biodiesel energy from Refined, Bleached, Deodorized Palm Oil (RBDPO). However, still could not eliminate hazardous waste glycerin pitch. Glycerin pitch a found in purification unit which used to produce high-grade glycerin, side product production. Up until now, existing well managed remains as waste. contains sodium salt can be recovered...

The increasing accumulation of CO2, the primary greenhouse gas (GHG), in Earth's atmosphere has caused significant environmental problems and adverse climate change. Photoreduction offers promising method to convert CO2 into high value chemical compounds, such as formic acid, which can serve a hydrogen carrier. process photoreduction efficiency be enhanced by using photocatalyst capable operating across two distinct photosystems each having different spectrum based on sensitivity light. This...

Indonesia has abundant coal resources. However, some of the is difficult to be mined because its location. Some are too far below soil surface, or also called Deep Seated Coal (DSC). Underground Gasification (UCG) an alternative Clean Technology that carried out gasification underground, thus it may have a potential explore DSC. The primary assessment underground started from simple thermal analysis. This paper presents those on characteristics for further prospects implementation in...

Co-pyrolysis of coal and biomass blend to produce hybrid has recently been experimentally studied by some previous researchers. For similar generated energy, a newly developed is claimed be more environmentally friendly compared the only due release neutral CO2. To acquire better understanding co-pyrolysis blend, an experiment had carried out in tubular furnace reactor. this purpose, blends constant mass composition 20 wt% sawdust 80 low-rank were used throughout study. It was found from...

Abstract Gasification process is an alternative way to utilize low-rank coal. However, gas production not very high due the content of volatile matters and mineral content. One interesting increase by reducing in coal acid leaching process. In present study, occupied pre-treat using HF solution so that can be leached out. The results show successfully decreased ash terms production, it appears slightly decreases total production. It could happen since processing might its crystallinity thus...
