Verticillium dahliae Kleb. is a hemibiotrophic, phytopathogenic fungus that causes wilt disease in wide range of crops, including cotton. Successful host colonization by hemibiotrophic pathogens requires the induction plant cell death to provide saprophytic nutrition for transition from biotrophic necrotrophic stage. In this study, we identified necrosis-inducing Phytophthora protein (NPP1) domain-containing family containing nine genes virulent, defoliating isolate V. (V592), named VdNLP...

Verticillium dahliae Kleb. is a phytopathogenic fungus that causes wilt disease in wide range of crops, including cotton. The life cycle V. includes three vegetative phases: parasitic, saprophytic and dormant. dormant microsclerotia are the primary infectious propagules, which germinate when they stimulated by root exudates. In this study, we report first application Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation (ATMT) for construction insertional mutants from virulent defoliating...

This study was aimed at extracting, characterizing, and exploring the detoxification activity of peptide-containing polysaccharide from Agaricus balchaschensis. An anion adsorption fraction acquired through hot water extraction. Its structure analyzed, potential protective effect against cadmium-intoxicated mice explored. Structural analysis revealed that principal component A. balchaschensis (ABPCP) is polysaccharide, which consists glucose, mannose, galactose, xylose, containing (1 →...

Cortinarius section Anomali is a species-rich group that occurs worldwide, particularly in Europe and North America. The overlapping morphological microscopical characteristics of species pose significant challenges for identification. Therefore, the focus this study was to clarify taxonomy phylogeny China. A total 229 specimens were collected China over past two decades. present study, based on combination extensive investigations molecular methods, reports 22 species. Eleven them are...

Bamboo is an economically important crop that has gained prominence as alternative to wood reduce deforestation and ecosystem destruction. Diseases of bamboo typically occur on leaves stems can cause significant loss, reducing the quality yield bamboo. However, there are few reports identifying fungal species diversity potential pathogens Here, we describe four new plant fungi from within Fujian provinces, China. Fungi were isolated diseased collected province identified based their...

Abstract A homogeneous monomeric laccase (ASL) from Agaricus sinodeliciosus , with a molecular mass of 65 kDa, was isolated using ion‐exchange chromatography (CM‐cellulose and Q‐Sepharose) gel‐filtration (Superdex 75). This exhibited maximum activity at 50 °C pH 5.0. Hg 2+ Cd significantly inhibited its activity. The displayed K m value 0.9 mM toward 2,2′‐azinobis‐(3‐ethylbenzthiazoline‐6‐sulfonate) (ABTS). In addition to ABTS, ASL higher affinity o‐toluidine benzidine than other substrates....

Members of the fungal order Diaporthales are sac fungi that include plant pathogens (the notorious chestnut blight fungus), as well saprobes and endophytes, capable colonizing a wide variety substrates in different ecosystems, habitats, hosts worldwide. However, many species remain unidentified, various inconsistencies within its taxonomic category to be resolved. Here, we aimed identify classify new by using combined morphological molecular characterization coupling this information expand...

The insect pathogenic fungus, Ascosphaera apis, is the causative agent of honeybee chalk brood disease. Amylases are secreted by many plant fungi to access host nutrients through metabolism starch, and identification new amylases can have important biotechnological applications. Production amylase A. apis in submerged culture was optimized using response surface method (RSM). Media composition modeled Box-Behnken design (BBD) at three levels variables, model experimentally validated predict...

Little is known concerning terpenoids produced by members of the fungal order Ophiostomales, with member Harringtonia lauricola having unique lifestyle being a beetle symbiont but potentially devastating tree pathogen. Nine terpenoids, including six labdane diterpenoids (1–6) and three hopane triterpenes (7–9), were isolated from H. ethyl acetate (EtOAc) extracts for first time. All compounds tested various in vitro bioactivities. Six compounds, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, are described functionally....
