This survey covers recent developments and applications of four skin-friction measurement techniques (oil-film interferometry, wall hot wire, surface fence pulsed wire). Comparisons the with each other methods are presented. Applications in attached separated fully turbulent boundary layers highly accelerated laminar-like flows will be shown to demonstrate application range limits various techniques.

Cinematic rendering (CR) is based on a new algorithm that creates photo-realistic three-dimensional (3D) picture from cross-sectional images. Previous studies have shown its positive impact preoperative planning. To date, CR presentation has only been possible 2D screens which limited natural 3D perception. depict CR-hearts spatially, we used mixed-reality technology and mapped corresponding hearts as holograms in space. Our aim was to assess the benefits of CR-holograms planning cardiac...

Mean velocity and Reynolds-stress profiles were measured in the incompressible turbulent boundary layer with zero pressure gradient on aerodynamically smooth sidewall of German–Dutch windtunnel. Data taken at Reynolds numbers Reδ2, based momentum thickness δ2 2×104, 4×104, 6×104 by means four different types hot-wire probes (three-wire probes, X wire, normal-wire probes). There are also measurements skin friction spectra. The data compare well few available other measurements, all show...

The development of highly integrated microwave devices greatly benefits from precise knowledge internal device voltages. Contact-based probing techniques can only provide external measurements and are limited by the size necessary contact pads. contactless voltage sensing method presented in this paper enables radio frequency (RF) voltages within devices. By using a conductive cantilever probe with sharp tip as capacitively coupled sensor be performed at precisely known tip-surface...

Contactless sensing methods using capacitively cou-pled probes can enable local radio frequency (RF) voltage measurements without the need for large contact pads. This enables a measurement of internal distributions and significantly facilitate development integrated microwave devices. The achievable spatial resolution these is typically limited by parasitic capacitive cross-talk between probe adjacent circuit parts. When RF are performed at multiple tip-surface distances, be reduced...

Timely and accurate detection of traffic incidents is crucial importance for highway management warning systems. These tasks are normally carried out by algorithms state estimation (SE) combined with automatic incident (AID) on the basis local measurements (e.g. inductive loop data, radar etc.). It evident that faults inaccuracies in process measuring data affect quality SE AID significantly. Especially volume occur frequently. They cause false alarms or they hinder these systems to detect...

Objectives: Cinematic rendering (CR) is a new 3D technique, which has already proven its positive impact in preoperative planning congenital heart surgery. So far CR images have been presented on 2D screen, but recently 3D-presenting application developed. By generating 3D-hologram CR-view, the patient’s can be an extremely realistic way. A further established 3D-imaging technique represents printing. The aim of this study to show benefit 3D-viewing comparison imaging only 2D-view....
