Abstract Polyurethanes cover a large range of materials exhibiting various physical and mechanical properties making them useful in different applications such as elastomers or biomaterials, for instance. The introduction ionic groups the polyurethane backbone opens way to new where can act crosslinkers that greatly modify final thermal materials. Furthermore, hydrophilicity chains be enhanced by presence species, so processed conventional dispersions even polar solvent water. As consequence...

The aim of this study is to examine the effect partial replacement sand by Glass Fiber-Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) waste on mechanical properties cement mortars. Compressive and flexural tests were carried out mortars containing 0, 3, 5, 10, 15% (by volume) GFRP waste. It appears that incorporation 3% did not significantly affect strength. However, further increasing content led a reduction in strength seemed less affected than compressive strength, since decrease at 10% was only 37%, while it...

Polylactic acid (PLA) composites reinforced with 10 wt% of flax (FF) or bamboo (BF) fibers were prepared via an internal mixer and/or twin-screw extrusion. Alkali pretreated soaked in silane to improve adhesion between and matrix. 0.8 Joncryl™, a grafted copolymer acting as PLA chain extender, was also used alone combination treatment interfacial adhesion. The influence Joncryl on the composite materials mechanical, thermal thermomechanical properties processed through injection molding...

The objective of this work was to compare the material recovered from different chemical recycling methodologies for thermoplastic acrylate-based composites reinforced by basalt fabrics and manufactured vacuum infusion. Recycling done via dissolution with a preselected adapted solvent. main goal study recover undamaged in order reuse them as reinforcements “second-generation” composites. Two protocols were compared. first one is based on an ultrasound technique, second mechanical stirring....

This work aims at evaluating the durability of a carbon fibre reinforced thermoplastic composite under different aging conditions. The absorption and desorption deionised water in (CF) Elium material were measured gravimetrically over two temperatures. Water uptake experimental data fitted to Langmuir type diffusion model order identify compare parameters kinetics evaluate their dependence It was found that temperature increase had significant effect only on saturation uptake. after modelled...

Poly(Ethylene Terephthalate) (PET) is one of the most used polymers for packaging applications. Modifications induced by service conditions and means to make this matter circular have be understood really close loop (from bottle example). Physico-chemical properties, crystalline organisation, mechanical behaviour virgin PET (vPET) are compared with those recycled (rPET). Using different combined experimental methods (Calorimetry, Small Angle X-ray Scattering [SAXS], Atomic Force Microscopy...
