Abstract Cancer diseases constitute one of the most significant societal challenges. In this paper, we introduce a novel histopathological dataset for prostate cancer detection. The proposed dataset, consisting over 2.6 million tissue patches extracted from 430 fully annotated scans, 4675 scans with assigned binary diagnoses, and 46 diagnoses independently provided by group histopathologists can be found at https://github.com/michalkoziarski/DiagSet . Furthermore, propose machine learning...

Objective A task force of scientists at the International Congress on Antiphospholipid Antibodies recognized that phosphatidylserine-dependent antiprothrombin antibodies (aPS/PT) might contribute to a better identification antiphospholipid syndrome (APS). Accordingly, initial and replication retrospective, cross-sectional multicentre studies were conducted ascertain value aPS/PT for APS diagnosis. Methods In study (eight centres, seven countries), clinical/laboratory data retrospectively...

One of the critical steps in molecular oncology diagnostics is obtaining high quality genomic DNA. Therefore, it important to evaluate and compare techniques used extract DNA from tissue samples. Since formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissues are routinely for both retrospective prospective studies, we compared three commercially available methods nucleic acid extraction terms quantity isolated DNA.Slides prepared 42 FFPE blocks were macro-dissected. Resulting material was divided...

Routine genomic surveillance on samples from COVID-19 patients collected in Poland during summer 2021 revealed the emergence of a SARS-CoV-2 Delta variant with large 872 nt deletion. This change, confirmed by Sanger and deep sequencing, causes complete loss ORF7a , ORF7b ORF8 genes. The index case carrying deletion is unknown. standard pipeline for sequencing may mask this long stretch N’s. Effects phenotype or immune evasion needs further study.

Recent evidence indicates that aspirin inhibits thrombin generation in clotting blood. We noticed this effect was less pronounced patients with hypercholesterolemia. The aim of the study to prove observation. effects on were evaluated (1) 46 healthy volunteers, 2 hours after ingestion a single, 500-mg dose and (2) 28 survivors myocardial infarction who took 300 mg aspirin/d for weeks. In both populations, two well-matched subgroups distinguished, using serum cholesterol level 6.2 mmol/L (240...

Individual populations show a variety of sensitization patterns, which may be associated with the geographic region, climate, dietary habits, or ways preparing food. The purpose this study was to comprehensively assess food allergy profile in Polish children, particularly eight allergens (so-called “the Big 8”): cow milk, eggs, wheat, soybeans, fish, crustacean shellfish, tree nuts, and peanuts. To prevalence serum levels specific immunoglobulins E (sIgE), we analyzed results obtained from...

This study follows 99 subjects vaccinated with Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines over two years, particular focus on the last year of observation (between days 360 and 720). The response to vaccination was assessed Diasorin's SARS-CoV-2 TrimericSpike IgG. Screening for infection performed Abbott's Nucleocapsid IgG immunoassay. Data from questionnaires were also analyzed. Two years after first vaccine dose administration, 100% positive anti-spike median antibody level still high (3600...

BRAF V600E and KRAS mutations that occur in colorectal cancer (CRC) define a subpopulation of patients with an inferior prognosis. Recently, the first V600E-targeting therapy has been approved novel agents targeting G12C are being evaluated CRC. Objective. Methods. Serum from 137 APS, associated autoimmune diseases, diseases other than five EU rheumatology centres were tested for antibodies. 109 who sera in-house enzyme-linked immunosorbent...

Antibodies against β 2 -glycoprotein I (anti-β GPI) are one of the hallmarks antiphospholipid syndrome (APS). However, they heterogenic regarding their epitope specificity, pathogenic mechanisms and avidity. In current study we present some outstanding issues about avidity anti-β GPI antibodies. Our results confirmed that high associated with thrombosis APS, while in low group non-APS (predominantly systemic lupus erythematosus) patients prevailed.

We intended to assess the humoral response induced by Pfizer/BioNTech Comirnaty COVID-19 vaccine with commercially available immunoassays: anti-spike (S) IgG and IgM, anti-nucleocapsid (N) antibodies, over a 4-month course. One hundred subjects, including 15 convalescents, comprised study cohort. The SARS-CoV-2 antibodies concentrations were measured on day 0' 10', 20', 30', 60', 90', 120' after first dose administration. Over course of study, 100% participants developed sustained...

The immunoassays used to measure anti-spike SARS-CoV-2 antibodies are widely available on the market. However, their performance in COVID-19 vaccinees is not yet adequately assessed. Our study provides a head-to-head comparison of five methods: Abbott's S1-RBD IgG, Roche's total antibody, Euroimmun's S1 and DiaSorin's TrimericS IgG S1/S2 assays.
