Cellulose with a degree of polymerization up to 650 can be dissolved in dimethyl sulfoxide containing 10 20% (w/v) tetrabutylammonium fluoride trihydrate without any pretreatment within 15 min at room temperature. The new solvent classified as non-derivatizing one concluded from 13C NMR measurements. used reaction medium for the homogeneous functionalization polymer. esters are prepared very effective by transesterification reactions. functional groups distributed order expected conversion,...
Tridecafluorononanoic acid (TFNA), a C6-fluorinated carboxylic acid, was esterified with cellulose at different molar ratios (0:1, 1:1, 2:1, and 3:1) in trifluoroacetic (TFA):trifluoroacetic anhydride (TFAA):CHCl3 (2:1:1, v:v:v) solvent mixture. Free-standing films were obtained for all formulations are presented as alternatives to composites blends of paper fluorinated molecules. Mechanical properties investigated by tensile tests, plasticizer effect chains observed. Interestingly, the...
Abstract Sulfonated poly (ether ether ketone) (SPEEK) has received substantial attention for its potential to improve the electrochemical behavior and thermomechanical capabilities of direct methanol fuel cells. This study examines how integration by solution casting microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) 2,3-dialdehyde (DAC) onto highly sulfonated PEEK (with a sulfonation degree 80%) affects physicochemical properties morphological structures. The mechanical attributes proton conductivity polymer...
The present paper describes the synthesis of 2,6-di-O-thexyldimethylsilyl cellulose as a novel 2,6-di-O-protected derivative. This material was obtained by reacting in N,N-dimethylacetamide/LiCl solution with thexyldimethylchlorosilane and imidazole for 24 h at 100°C. In typical subsequent reaction residual OH-group position 3 could be completely etherified without loss any protecting groups. Treatment tetrabutylammonium fluoride leads to compounds 3-O-allyl 3-O-methyl cellulose. structures...
Small, spherical silver nanoclusters were synthesised on the surface of paper as a model cellulosic fibre substrate by standard chemical reduction method. The concentration is roughly proportional to initial salt concentration. However, there noticeable degree nanocluster aggregation larger agglomerates. addition small amounts α-cellulose, carboxymethyl cellulose or aminocellulose during synthesis silver/cellulose nanocomposites suppresses this and significantly increases fibres cellulose....
