Chlamydia trachomatis , the most common cause of sexually transmitted bacterial infection worldwide, has a unique biphasic developmental cycle alternating between infectious elementary body and replicative reticulate body. C. is responsible for severe reproductive complications including pelvic inflammatory disease, ectopic pregnancy, obstructive infertility. The aim our study was to evaluate whether Mentha suaveolens essential oil (EOMS) can be considered as promising candidate preventing...

The authors evaluated quality of life in Charcot–Marie–Tooth disease by administering the Medical Outcome Study Short Form-36 (SF-36) questionnaire to 121 Italian patients. Patients scored lower on all SF-36 scales compared with normative data. Scores were nonworking vs working patients, women men, and older younger but not between patients demyelinating axonal forms or who had undergone orthopedic foot surgery those not.

This paper presents a novel human joint motion recording method, The recorded data are sent to the receiver, which is placed in close proximity or same room with patient, via wireless short-range communications system that guarantees 3 days of battery life. method exploits commercially available bend sensors convert mechanical movements into electric signals then acquired, pre-processed, transmitted and post-processed. We propose way sensor's application, underlying advantages drawbacks...

In order to obtain a more precise microtopographical surface map of the epithelium rabbit vaginal mucosa, investigations by light microscopy (LM), transmission electron (TEM), and scanning (SEM) have been systematically correlated. The was examined from “portio vaginalis cervicis uteri” down “vestibulum”. This study shows that upper 2/3 vagina —which, in this species, is very long, measuring 13-14cm—is lined single epithelial layer tall ciliated microvillous cells closely resembling...

Chlamydia species cause a broad spectrum of diseases in humans including severe chronic sequelae related to persistent forms. Despite the lack detectable amounts peptidoglycan, several studies suggest presence small quantities peptidoglycan or its derivative at least some stages growth cycle. Based on recent discovery Chlamydiae aminotransferase pathway for biosynthesis meso-diaminopimelic acid, we demonstrated up-regulation gene (cp0259) encoding L,L-diaminopimelate chlamydial This finding...

Nerve abnormalities were detected 32 of 400 sensory or motor nerves, while 11 (37.9%) showed abnormal conduction, indicating one more entrapment neuropathies. Patients SCP develop joint contractures deformities due to muscle tone limited use/flexibility; these can, turn, cause damage, possibly as a result the stretching, angulation compression mechanisms...

Cavernous malformations are vascular lesions presenting histologically as a collection of blood-filled spaces separated by loose connective tissue network. may be familial or sporadic, both forms having prevalence around 0.5%. They account for between 8% and 15% all cerebrovascular malformations, but responsible disproportionately high percentage symptoms. Although specific histological markers can distinguish different there exist “mixed” features common to forms, thereby giving rise...
