Background:
Holoprosencephaly (HPE) is the most common structural malformation of human forebrain. There are several important HPE mutational target genes, including transcription factor SIX3, which encodes an early regulator Shh, Wnt, Bmp and Nodal signalling expressed in developing forebrain eyes all vertebrates.
Objective:
To characterise genetic clinical findings patients with SIX3 mutations.
Methods:
Patients their family members were tested for...

SummaryRight-to-left circulatory shunts were produced in 11 mongrel dogs by anastomosis of the left atrial appendage to pulmonary artery. When injections Kr85 solution made proximal shunt level radioactivity arterial blood drawn during first 20 sec. after injection was always greater than 1400 cts./min. In without shunts, however, similar resulted counts 206/min. or less. The technic thus provides a new method for detection and localization venoarterial shunts.

SummaryLeft-to-right shunts were constructed in 8 mongrel dogs by anastomosis of left subclavian artery to pulmonary artery. When solutions krypton85 injected into the root aorta proximal a functioning shunt, krypton gas could be detected airway Geiger-Müller tube less than 5 seconds. similar injections made absence appearance time was usually 10 seconds or more. Thus, monitoring expired it is possible detect presence shunt resulting early Kr85 arterial blood following injection side heart aorta.

Background: The need for high quality, comprehensive national data on the treatments applied to cancers is widely recognized within Australian cancer control community. analysis and reporting of treatment will greatly enhance our ability better understand care activity outcomes - in particular being across population groups. Aim: To collect report treatments, as part Cancer Australia's Stage, Treatment Recurrence (STaR) project. linking this with stage at diagnosis, survival recurrence, help...
