Oncogenic mutant p53 is one of the targets for cancer therapy, and development anticancer drugs that reactivate a promising strategy. The extract fungus Pestalotiopsis sp. changed to wild-type-like in Saos-2 (p53R175H) cells, as shown by fluorescent immunostaining, bioassay-guided purification afforded new dimeric epoxyquinoids, pestones A B (1 2), known compound, rosnecatrone (3). relative absolute configurations 1 2 were determined based on spectroscopic data semisynthesis from 3....
This study compared pain intensity and psychosocial characteristics between patients with burning mouth syndrome (BMS) those trigeminal neuralgia (TN). Data from 282 BMS 83 TN were analyzed. Patients reported duration of illness: ≤ 6 months was defined as acute illness > chronic illness. Present worst during the past using a 0-10 numeric rating scale (NRS). In addition, depression somatization scores evaluated on questionnaires. significantly higher had worse than did BMS. Pain in patients,...
We investigated the relationship between pain intensity and psychosocial characteristics in patients with temporomandibular disorder (TMD). Participants painful TMD, according to Research Diagnostic Criteria for TMD (RDC/TMD), were recruited from our clinic classified into six age groups: 15 24, 25 34, 35 44, 45 54, 55 64, 65 85 years (Groups A through F, respectively). Self-reported present worst during past 6 months ascertained using a numeric rating scale (0 10). Depression somatization...
We evaluated the mechanisms underlying oxytocin (OXT)-induced analgesic effect on orofacial neuropathic pain following infraorbital nerve injury (IONI). IONI was established through tight ligation of one-third thickness. Subsequently, head withdrawal threshold for mechanical stimulation (MHWT) whisker pad skin measured using a von Frey filament. Trigeminal ganglion (TG) neurons innervating were identified retrograde labeling technique. OXT receptor-immunoreactive (IR), transient receptor...
The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between pain intensities and psychosocial characteristics in middle-aged older patients with temporomandibular disorders (TMDs) burning mouth syndrome (BMS). Subjects were selected according Research Diagnostic Criteria for TMD (n = 705) International Association Study Pain criteria BMS 175). Patients then divided into two age groups: 45-64 years (middle-aged, Group A) 65-84 (older, B). intensity depression somatization scores evaluated...
Headaches are a common complaint in temporomandibular disorder (TMD) patients. However, few studies have compared the symptom characteristics between TMD patients with and without of headache. The aim this study was to compare subjective symptoms treatment outcomes myofascial who had chief headache those did not.
The purpose of this study was to compare learning need reports generated by students during their investigation a problem-based (PBL) case with the faculty-identified objectives established for it. Four PBL cases facilitated four group tutors were selected comparison. student-generated needs collected each and compared faculty-specified outcomes. results analyzed individual among student groups. Over 96 percent across all groups covered reports. Only one demonstrated statistically...
There is little evidence regarding the reliability of CPT and PT measurements to gauge mandibular perception. Thus, this study aimed evaluate test-retest values obtained from oral mucosa test bilateral differences in mental foramen region buccal shelf by a single operator.CPT were regions 20 volunteers (10 males 10 females; average age: 26.4 ± 2.6 years) using Neurometer CPT/C® device deliver electrical stimulation.Relative absolute reliabilities confirmed over two 7- 10-day measurement...
The irritation and pain associated with oral blood sampling necessary to monitor glycemic control can alter sensation, but no studies have measured the reliability of sensation testing when performed concurrently sampling. primary secondary aims this study were verify measurement current perception threshold (CPT) (PT) tests before after investigate differences in CPTs/PTs obtained from cavity, hand, foot, respectively. CPT/PT measurements mucosa tips fingers toes 18 volunteers (10 males 8...
Background: The cognitive effects of wearing a denture are not well understood. This study was conducted to clarify the use on prefrontal and chewing muscle activities, occlusal state, subjective ability in partially edentulous elderly individuals. Methods: Sixteen patients were enrolled. Chewing-related cortex jaw activities simultaneously examined using an fNIRS device electromyography, under conditions unwearing denture. Occlusal state masticatory score also determined both conditions....
There is little evidence of sensation in individuals with diabetes mellitus (DM) the dental research field. We investigated whether pain thresholds (PTs) differ between and without DM (non-DM; NDM). To this end, we assessed PTs obtained from oral cavity, hands, feet differed each other across groups, for three current frequencies used testing (2000 Hz, 250 5 Hz). Pain threshold measurements were mucosa tips fingers toes 56 volunteers, including 21 (12 men 9 women, average age: 72.1 ± 4.7...
Jaw and neck muscles may be activated by chewing load using a hard food. However, it remains unclear how effects the gum hardness to coordinated features in jaw muscle activities during performance.This study was conducted quantitatively elucidate of on intermuscular EMG-EMG transfer function coherence analyses 18 healthy subjects.Jaw were aggregated into first peak frequency power spectrum, power, gain, phase, parameters between examined frequencies soft chewing.The not significantly...
This study was performed to evaluate the association of jaw and neck muscle coordination with movement activity in order clarify relationships electromyogram(EMG)-EMG findings showing coherence between activities while chewing healthy individuals. Sixteen subjects gum chewing, EMG signals muscles movements were simultaneously recorded. Coherence as well first peak frequency power spectrum, analyzed left right side using EMG-EMG function analysis. Those results used relationship rhythmical...
This study investigated changes in chewing satisfaction from old to new dentures, exploring how perceived masticatory difficulty with the denture influenced food intake dentures. Additionally, factors influencing overall dentures were examined. Consecutive sampling involved edentulous individuals seeking replacements for both maxillary and mandibular complete A total of 103 individuals(49 males, 54 females; age range: 39-87 years; mean age: 71.6±8.6 years)participated.
