Abstract Background The recommendation from national documents and reports to promote inquiry-related science activities has not been supported by recent studies, which have found the overall frequency of inquiry be negatively associated with student learning outcomes. This study was inspired such conflicting aimed clarify associations science-specific, epistemological beliefs students’ mathematical scientific literacies. Abstract Research literature has provided considerable insight as to how young students might come deeper understandings of statistical concepts, processes and representations through investigations. However, ‘data-ing’—the critical thinking aspects decision-making while engaging in investigations—has shown be more difficult grasp. Data-ing investigations identified particularly challenging include: generating researchable questions, knowing when or apply knowledge, seeing a need for...
Background As a majority of patients with choroidal melanoma do not undergo enucleation, tumour tissue for prognostic testing has to be obtained alternate methods. Transvitreal incisional biopsies enable histological examination as well immunohistochemical staining BRCA1-associated protein-1 (BAP-1). Methods Fifty-nine diagnosed in transvitreal between years 2003 and 2019 were included. Twenty-one these subsequently underwent enucleation. The level nuclear expression BAP-1 enucleations was...
• Although spontaneous regression of uveal malignant melanoma is rare, its occurrence not uncommon in cutaneous melanomas. We report a 15-year follow-up an enlarging posterior pigmented tumor. It initially appeared to spontaneously regress into flat chorioretinal scar, but, ten years later, it grew markedly and the eye was enucleated. Histopathologic changes similar those found regressed melanomas were located region scar.

Previous research into the knowledge required for teaching has focused primarily on pre-service and in-service teachers' knowledge. What is less researched, however, role of teacher educator in helping teachers (PSTs) develop needed order to teach mathematics students. The focus thus shifts from examining school students, studying educators' teachers. This raises question what nature this as by educators, how evident it their practice? paper documents interactions among two educators cohorts...
