In order to observe the Casimir radiation we propose a new experimental scheme with no mechanically moving mirror. fact estimate that power required for sustained mechanical vibration would be beyond present possibilities. Our apparatus consists of superconducting electromagnetic resonant cavity wall covered by semiconductor layer whose reflectivity is driven laser at gigahertz frequencies. The thus acts as Preliminary laboratory tests showed can indeed reflect microwaves efficiently...

According to QED a metallic mirror set in motion quantum vacuum gives rise “dissipated” energy the form of real photons. This phenomenon, called dynamical Casimir effect, has never been observed due unsolved technical difficulties: order obtain an experimentally measurable number photons from fluctuations reflecting surface fact vibrate at very high frequencies (≃109 Hz). As these are too be achieved with purely mechanical oscillation, our idea is switch effective microwave on and off short...

A system with several lines for the preparation of graphite targets radiocarbon analysis has been built at new accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS) facility in Caserta, Italy. Special attention paid design to reduction background contamination during sample preparation. Here, we describe main characteristics these lines. Results tests performed measure 14 C levels and isotope fractionation blank samples Caserta AMS are presented discussed.

The potential use of high sensitivity laser absorption spectroscopy for measuring the 13C/12C isotope ratio in atmospheric CO2 has been demonstrated, using a GaSb-based diode at 2.05 microm. In this spectral region, overlapping between relatively strong 12CO2 and 13CO2 features gives rise to several line pairs which are well suitable spectroscopic determination ratio. Preliminary results have demonstrated that short-term precision better than 1 per thousand can be easily obtained,...

SPES (Selective Production of Exotic Species) is an ISOL type facility for production and post-acceleration exotic nuclei forefront research in nuclear physics. Radioactive (RA) species (A = 80÷160) will be produced by fissions induced a proton beam impinging on UCx target: the delivered commercial cyclotron with 40 MeV maximum energy 0.25 mA current. The RA species, extracted from Target-Ion-Source system as 1+ beam, cooled RFQ (radiofrequency quadrupole) cooler (RFQ-BC) purified isobars...

Abstract Horizontal collaborations emerged as a new strategic option in the logistics sector during last decade. However, successful implementation of horizontal is far from developed issue due to several barriers that exist or emerge when setting up such collaborative projects.
