In order to observe the Casimir radiation we propose a new experimental scheme with no mechanically moving mirror. fact estimate that power required for sustained mechanical vibration would be beyond present possibilities. Our apparatus consists of superconducting electromagnetic resonant cavity wall covered by semiconductor layer whose reflectivity is driven laser at gigahertz frequencies. The thus acts as Preliminary laboratory tests showed can indeed reflect microwaves efficiently...
According to QED a metallic mirror set in motion quantum vacuum gives rise “dissipated” energy the form of real photons. This phenomenon, called dynamical Casimir effect, has never been observed due unsolved technical difficulties: order obtain an experimentally measurable number photons from fluctuations reflecting surface fact vibrate at very high frequencies (≃109 Hz). As these are too be achieved with purely mechanical oscillation, our idea is switch effective microwave on and off short...
A system with several lines for the preparation of graphite targets radiocarbon analysis has been built at new accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS) facility in Caserta, Italy. Special attention paid design to reduction background contamination during sample preparation. Here, we describe main characteristics these lines. Results tests performed measure 14 C levels and isotope fractionation blank samples Caserta AMS are presented discussed.
The purpose of this paper is to conceptualise an integration firms working in a complex network from supply chain management (SCM) perspective. Having defined framework on the integration, we suggest maritime logistics as meaningful business context for its validation using prevailing cases industry. proposed conceptualisation frames tri-dimensional concept based multi-layered view interactions within network. Empirical evidence analysis selected single yet considerably inter-firm network,...
The potential use of high sensitivity laser absorption spectroscopy for measuring the 13C/12C isotope ratio in atmospheric CO2 has been demonstrated, using a GaSb-based diode at 2.05 microm. In this spectral region, overlapping between relatively strong 12CO2 and 13CO2 features gives rise to several line pairs which are well suitable spectroscopic determination ratio. Preliminary results have demonstrated that short-term precision better than 1 per thousand can be easily obtained,...
SPES (Selective Production of Exotic Species) is an ISOL type facility for production and post-acceleration exotic nuclei forefront research in nuclear physics. Radioactive (RA) species (A = 80÷160) will be produced by fissions induced a proton beam impinging on UCx target: the delivered commercial cyclotron with 40 MeV maximum energy 0.25 mA current. The RA species, extracted from Target-Ion-Source system as 1+ beam, cooled RFQ (radiofrequency quadrupole) cooler (RFQ-BC) purified isobars...
Abstract The Linear IFMIF Prototype Accelerator (LIPAc) is designed to accelerate 125mA of deuteron beam 9MeV in continuous wave (CW). superconductive RF Linac has not yet been installed and the final accelerating stage now under commissioning RFQ. This system developed by INFN (Italy) before installation QST (Japan). RFQ longest World with its 9.8m requires power injection from 8 independent synchronized coupler ports. LIPAc demonstrated acceleration at 5MeV for 1ms a 1s repetition period...
Abstract Horizontal collaborations emerged as a new strategic option in the logistics sector during last decade. However, successful implementation of horizontal is far from developed issue due to several barriers that exist or emerge when setting up such collaborative projects. This study aims at identifying enabling factors supporting sector, and key success service providers (LSPs) should consider. Results within‐ cross‐case analysis two collaboration projects contract support proposed...
The Selective Production of Exotic Species (SPES) project is presently under development at INFN-LNL: aim this the production, ionization and postacceleration radioactive ions to perform forefront research in nuclear physics. An ECR-based charge breeder (SPES-CB) will allow post-acceleration ions: particular, SPES-CB has been designed developed by LPSC Grenoble, based on Phoenix booster. It be equipped with a complete test bench totally integrated SPES beam line: part post-accelerator,...
The Radio Frequency Quadrupole (RFQ) linac and 1.6 MW RF power system of the Linear IFMIF Prototype Accelerator (LIPAc) facility in International Fusion Energy Research Center (IFERC) Rokkasho (Japan) has been installed conditioned. During assembly tuning process, RFQ cavity was protected with a temporary tent from potential deterioration performance caused by dust. vacuum improved through 100°C baking process cavity. high test 175 MHz systems up to 200 kW CW for each eight chains performed...
The eight-chain RF system and radio frequency quadrupole (RFQ) linac were successfully integrated at the facility of Linear IFMIF Prototype Accelerator (LIPAc). We achieved an unprecedented high current deuteron beam up to 55 mA in pulse operation ($300~\mu \text{s}$ , 1 Hz). keys success (1) understanding reflected power from RFQ system, (2) tuning each chain individually, (3) intensive conditioning for holding stable RFQ, (4) optimizing loading compensation control. Interestingly,...
