Abstract Glucose metabolism is commonly dysregulated in cancer and other pathological contexts. Fructose-1, 6-bisphosphatase (FBP) a key rate-limiting gluconeogenic enzyme that converts fructose-1, 6-bisphosphate to fructose-6-phosphate, which produces glucose glycogen from noncarbohydrate substrates. Two FBP isoforms, FBP1 FBP2, are differentially expressed human tissues. the primary organs (liver kidney) maintain blood levels under fasting conditions. In contrast, FBP2 expression primarily...
Serine biosynthesis uses 3‐phosphoglycerate, an intermediate of glycolysis, to catalyze the first reaction by phosphoglycerate dehydrogenase (PHGDH). This produces 3‐phosphohydroxypyruvate, which eventually becomes serine through two additional steps. Upregulation has been characterized as a hallmark cancer cell metabolism, is essential metabolite that provides precursors for various building blocks supporting growth and proliferation. We hypothesize enzymes involved in may associate with...
