We report a precision measurement of the parity-violating asymmetry $A_{PV}$ in elastic scattering longitudinally polarized electrons from $^{208}$Pb. measure $A_{PV}=550\pm 16 {\rm (stat)}\pm 8\ (syst)}$ parts per billion, leading to an extraction neutral weak form factor $F_W(Q^2 = 0.00616\ GeV}^2) 0.368 \pm 0.013$. Combined with our previous measurement, extracted neutron skin thickness is $R_n-R_p=0.283 0.071$~fm. The result also yields first significant direct interior density...
We report a precise measurement of the parity-violating (PV) asymmetry A_{PV} in elastic scattering longitudinally polarized electrons from ^{48}Ca. measure A_{PV}=2668±106(stat)±40(syst) parts per billion, leading to an extraction neutral weak form factor F_{W}(q=0.8733 fm^{-1})=0.1304±0.0052(stat)±0.0020(syst) and charge minus F_{ch}-F_{W}=0.0277±0.0055. The resulting neutron skin thickness R_{n}-R_{p}=0.121±0.026(exp)±0.024(model) fm is relatively thin yet consistent with many model...

A new processing technique for a few alkali antimonide photocathodes is described. This does not require an initial antimony layer as in the conventional techniques. Electron microscopic examination of film shows that affected by ambient gases, and improvement senistivity which results this thought to be due absence it. The band gaps are determined photoconductivity measurements. threshold energy and, hence, electron affinity calculated from region photoemission these photocathodes....
The conditions inside next-generation nuclear reactors are likely to be extreme. High-performance materials will required, and there is still great scope for developing new improved alloys. High-entropy alloys (HEAs) potential candidates, it that such need based around low-activation elements tend form body-centred cubic structures. Whilst have been a number of investigations assessing the capability CALPHAD databases predict phases formed in face-centred HEAs, their applicability less...
Protonation of [M(HBPz*3)(Co)2](Pz*= 3,5-dimethylpyrazol-1-yl) occurs at the nitrogen for M = Rh forming [Rh{η2-HBPz*2(Pz*H)}(CO)2][BF4], which X-ray crystal structure has been determined; Ir a cationic IrIII hydride is formed attacked by strong nucleophiles carbonyl carbon.
Abstract Transition metal nitrides, especially tantalum are pivotal for applications in extreme environments demanding excellent mechanical properties and thermodynamic stability. Among them, ‐TaN, a high‐pressure polymorph of nitride with its exceptional bulk modulus (362 GPa) hardness (31.7 promises to have many technological uses. Another nitride, , has gained importance as photocatalyst water splitting using visible light. The Ta–N phase diagram indicates that the thermal decomposition...
This report outlines the diagnostic journey of a 31-year-old female patient with chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection who presented acute rectal bleeding. Initially, she was misdiagnosed ulcerative colitis at primary care center, though underlying cause her symptoms related to cirrhosis and its complication, portal hypertensive colopathy (PHC). At presentation, revealed history ascites few months before onset bleeding, which had been managed diuretics. Subsequent investigations led...
