Purpose To report interim cosmetic and toxicity results of a multicenter randomized trial comparing accelerated partial-breast irradiation (APBI) using three-dimensional conformal external beam radiation therapy (3D-CRT) with whole-breast (WBI). Patients Methods Women age > 40 years invasive or in situ breast cancer ≤ 3 cm were randomly assigned after breast-conserving surgery to 3D-CRT APBI (38.5 Gy 10 fractions twice daily) WBI (42.5 16 50 25 daily ± boost irradiation). The primary...

We introduce a pair of tools, Rasa NLU and Core, which are open source python libraries for building conversational software. Their purpose is to make machine-learning based dialogue management language understanding accessible non-specialist software developers. In terms design philosophy, we aim ease use, bootstrapping from minimal (or no) initial training data. Both packages extensively documented ship with comprehensive suite tests. Large-scale pre-trained language models have shown impressive results on understanding benchmarks like GLUE and SuperGLUE, improving considerably over other pre-training methods distributed representations (GloVe) purely supervised approaches. We introduce the Dual Intent Entity Transformer (DIET) architecture, study effectiveness of different intent entity prediction, two common dialogue tasks. DIET advances state art a complex multi-domain NLU dataset achieves similarly high performance...

Normal brain tissue doses have been shown to be strongly apparatus dependent for multi-target stereotactic radiosurgery. In this study, we investigated whether inter-target dose interplay effects across contemporary radiosurgical treatment platforms are responsible such an observation. For the subsets ([Formula: see text] and 12) of a total 12 targets were planned at six institutions. Treatment included (1) Gamma Knife Perfexion (PFX), (2) CyberKnife, (3) Novalis linear accelerator equipped...

To determine the interval from breast-conserving surgery (BCS) to radiation therapy (RT) that affects local control or survival. The 10-year Kaplan-Meier (KM) recurrence-free survival (LRFS), distant (DRFS), and breast cancer-specific (BCSS) were computed for 6,428 women who had T1 2, N0 1, M0 cancer was diagnosed in British Columbia between 1989 2003, treated with BCS RT without chemotherapy. The purpose of this study was to compare dosimetric and radiobiological parameters treatment plans using coplanar noncoplanar beam arrangements in patients with fronto‐temporal high‐grade glioma (HGG) generated for intensity‐modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) or volumetric‐modulated arc therapy (VMAT). Ten cases HGG overlapping the optic apparatus were selected. Four separate created each case: IMRT, IMRT (ncIMRT), VMAT, VMAT (ncVMAT). prescription dose 60 Gy 30 fractions. Interest is growing in treating multiple brain metastases with radiosurgery. We report on the effectiveness and tolerability of volumetric radiosurgery (VRS).We enrolled patients a ≥6-month estimated life expectancy 1 to 10 diameter ≤3 cm at 5 cancer centers. Volumetric was delivered fractions 98% target coverage, prescribed as 95% 50 Gy (47.5 fractions) no margin 40 (38 their 2-mm planning volumes, concurrent 20 whole volume. Breast/chest wall irradiation (RT) increases risk of cardiovascular death. International Quantitative Analysis Normal Tissue Effects in the Clinic (QUANTEC) guidelines state for partial heart a "V25Gy <10% will be associated with <1% probability cardiac mortality" long-term follow-up after RT. We assessed whether women treated breast/chest RT 10-years ago who died disease (CVD) violated QUANTEC guidelines.A population-based database identified all deaths early-stage breast cancer <80 years,...

Prior data about the influence of age at diagnosis breast cancer on patient outcomes and survival has been conflicting. Using Breast Cancer Outcomes Unit database BC Cancer, this retrospective population-based study identified a cohort 24,469 patients diagnosed with invasive between 2005 2014. Median follow-up was 11.5 years. We analyzed clinical pathological features treatment specific variables compared across following cohorts: <35, 35-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80 years older....
