The COVID-19 pandemic has challenged healthcare systems worldwide over the last few months, and it continues to do so. Although some restrictions are being removed, is not certain when going be definitively over. Pandemics can seen as a highly complex logistic scenario. From this perspective, of indications provided for palliative radiotherapy (PRT) during could maintained in future settings that limit possibility patients achieving symptom relief by radiotherapy. This paper two aims: (1)...

Abstract Background Purpose of this study is to explore the trade-offs between radio-induced toxicities and second malignant neoplasm (SMN) induction risk different emerging radiotherapy techniques for Hodgkin’s lymphoma (HL) through a comprehensive dosimetric analysis on representative clinical model. Methods Three planning target volume (PTV i ) scenarios female patient with supradiaphragmatic HL were used as models purpose study. Five treatment radiation simulated: an anterior-posterior...

Abstract Purpose Radical resection (R0) represents the best curative treatment for local recurrence (LR) rectal cancer. Re-irradiation (re-RT) can increase rate of R0 resection. Currently, there is a lack guidelines on Re-RT LR The Italian Association Radiation and clinical oncology gastrointestinal tumors (AIRO-GI) study group released national survey to investigate current practice external beam radiation therapy in these patients. Material methods In February 2021, was designed...

Background/Aim: The aim of the study was to investigate boost volume definition, doses, and delivery techniques for rectal cancer dose intensification. Patients Methods: An online survey made on 25 items (characteristics, simulation, imaging, volumes, planning treatment). Results: Thirty-eight radiation oncologists joined study. Twenty-one delivered long-course radiotherapy with Boost delineated diagnostic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in 18 centres (85.7%), computed tomography (CT)...
