Abstract An ideal porous adsorbent toward uranium with not only large adsorption capacity and high selectivity but also broad applicability even under rigorous conditions is highly desirable still extremely scarce. In this work, a adsorbent, namely [NH 4 ] + [COF‐SO 3 − ], prepared by ammoniating SO H‐decorated covalent organic framework (COF) enables remarkable performance for extraction. Relative to the pristine COF (COF‐SO H) of 360 mg g −1 , ammoniated counterpart affords ultrahigh...

In situ characterization of coordination species and their evolution are crucial for effective lanthanide separation recycling. Current technical approaches often operate under constrained conditions, requiring complex equipment, experimental setups, sometimes intricate data interpretation. Herein, we demonstrate that carbon NMR titrations offer a valuable approach in analysis lanthanides, particularly highly fused preorganized ligands more NMR-active carbons than traditional proton NMR. Two...

A series of cationic heteroleptic iridium(III) complexes bearing tris-diimine ligands [Ir(phen)2(R-phen)]3+ (R-phen = phenanthroline (1), 3,8-diphenylphenanthroline (2), 3,8-dipyrenylphenanthroline (3), 3-phenylphenanthroline (4), 3-pyrenylphenanthroline (5), and 3,8-diphenylethynylphenanthroline (6)) were synthesized characterized. These possessed phen ligand-localized 1π,π* transitions below 300 nm, charge transfer (1CT) and/or between 520 nm. In 1, 2, 4, 6, the low-energy bands mixed...

Highly selective hydrophilic ligands were believed to be an efficient way overcome the massive amount of hazardous organic solvent used in liquid-liquid extraction process and stood as a new frontier Lns(III)/Ans(III) partition. Current reported suffer from harsh preparation conditions, inferior performances, limited available chemical structures, inability carry out under high acidity. In this article, we report simple yet carboxylic group modified phenanthroline-diimide ligand which...

We report plasmonic enhancement of photocatalysis by depositing 5 nm Au nanoislands onto tungsten diselenide (WSe2) monolayer films. Under 532 wavelength illumination, the bare WSe2 film produces a relatively small photocurrent (20 nA). With addition nanoparticles, we observe enhancements up to 7× (0.14 μA) in measured photocurrent. Despite these photocurrents, it is remarkable that adequate charge separating fields are generated over just 7.3 Å material. Here, improvement photocatalytic...

Selective actinide coordination (from lanthanides) is critical for both nuclear waste management and sustainable development of power. Hydrophilic ligands used as masking agents to withhold actinides in the aqueous phase are currently highly pursued, while synthetic accessibility, water solubility, acid resistance, extraction capability remaining problems. Ultrathin photovoltaics made of MoS2 or WSe2 have the potential to convert solar energy electricity with high efficiency because all photogenerated carriers are produced at a charge-collecting interface. However, solid-state monolayer photovoltaic devices typically require that charge travel parallel to, instead perpendicular three atom-thick material toward contacts. Parallel transport across long distances decreases conversion efficiency. Here we demonstrate proof-of-concept and bilayer...
