The taxonomic revision of Mimosa sect. ser. subser. Polycephalae resulting from the analysis protologs and study approximately 450 collections, including all types, in addition to collections observations populations field, led us identify problems typification, concept, circumscription for some species directing stablish 13 synonymizations, 11 lectotypifications, seven which were second step, as well propose ranking five varieties level. From this work, now comprises 34 species.
Abstract Chamaecrista tocantinensis, a new species of sect. Absus subsect. ser. Paniculatae endemic to the Jalapao region in state Tocantins, Northern Brazil, is herein described and illustrated. The systematic position, conservation status, flowering fruiting period, geographical distribution, morphological relationships this novel with C. claussenii var. megacycla, lundii, orbiculata are discussed. A key all taxa hitherto known from including ten records, also provided.
Chamaecrista is a monophyletic genus, comprises approximately 330 tropical species classified into six sections of which sect. Absus the largest them with 190 species, four subsections, and 31 series. Series Paniculatae seven (13 taxa) mainly distributed in Brazilian Savanna has been pointed as paraphyletic group preliminary study about Chamaecrista. We propose phylogenetic reconstruction order to test its monophyly based on larger sample, verify relationships other series, better define...
The genus Manihot Mill. contains about 120 species of which 104 occur in Brazil. We tested the cross-amplification ten microsatellite markers developed for esculenta 15 endemic to Brazilian Cerrado. also evaluated genetic diversity irwinii, M. orbicularis, and purpureocostata. Ten pairs primers were amplified among 14 Manihot. percentage polymorphic loci per varied from 70 100 %. Nine showed amplification polymorphism when on polyacrylamide gel. combined form three sets multiplex genotyping...
This study aimed to perform a comparative anatomical between Palicourea coriacea and rigida (Rubiaceae), aiming correlate possible changes the variations of climatic factors found in biome, contribute taxonomic delimitation genus. The material was collected according usual recommendations plant anatomy an area Cerrado sensu stricto, located municipality Diorama – Goiás. We observed that studied species share morphoanatomical diagnostic characteristics for Rubiaceae family. However, some were...
Taxonomic studies of Mimosa subser. Polycephalae revealed a new species and indicated the need for taxonomic nomenclatural adjustments in group. pseudoracemosa is described illustrated as from Goiás State central-western Brazil. We discuss its geographic distribution, environmental preferences, phenology conservation status compare it with morphologically similar M. pseudoradula flavocaesia. A var. detonsa name are proposed (= detonsa), including anapolitana crystallites synonyms, well an...
This work presents a new circumscription and taxonomic treatment for Chamaecrista ser. Setosae that resulted from previous phylogenetic studies the analysis of ca. 350 collections, including typus, as well observation populations in field. Nine species were recognized series, eight which are endemic to Brazil, one firstly recorded country (Ch. orenocensis). Are proposed synonymizations all varieties Ch. setosa, transfer amphibola series Ursinae its consequent synonymization under exsudans,...
Chamaecrista (L.) Moench is one of the largest genera Leguminosae, with about 330 species, 258 which are present in Brazil, mainly Savanna areas central portion country. The genus monophyletic and comprises six sections, including Ch. cect. Absus, biggest ca. 180 species divided into four subsections 31 series. Paniculatae series, as traditionally recognized, included 6 (12 taxa). However, it recently had its circumscription changed from a phylogenetic study that made group subordinated 13...
