Mutations in alpha-synuclein gene cause familial form of Parkinson disease, and deposition wild-type as Lewy bodies occurs a hallmark lesion sporadic disease dementia with bodies, implicating the pathogenesis related neurodegenerative diseases. Dopamine neurons substantia nigra are major site neurodegeneration associated disease. Here we establish transgenic Caenorhabditis elegans (TG worms) that overexpresses or mutant human dopamine neurons. The TG worms exhibit accumulation cell neurites...
Mutations or multiplications in α-synuclein gene cause familial forms of Parkinson disease dementia with Lewy bodies (LB), and the deposition wild-type as LB occurs a hallmark lesion these disorders, collectively referred to synucleinopathies, implicating pathogenesis synucleinopathy. To identify modifier genes α-synuclein-induced neurotoxicity, we conducted an RNAi screen transgenic C . elegans (Tg worms) that overexpress human pan-neuronal manner. enhance effect neurons, crossed Tg worms...
In the context of global climate change, monitoring focused on temperature and benthic animals in intertidal flats development metrics to assess change ecosystem responses are essential for a sustainable society. However, few studies have assessed relationship between sediment distribution animals. To address this gap, present study, temperatures were observed 12 11 survey areas over 335 days, from October 2, 2019, August 31, 2020, using water data loggers. The characteristics variable among...
Electronic decision-support tools are becoming an essential component of government strategies to tackle non-native species invasions. This study describes the development and application a multilingual electronic tool for screening terrestrial animals under current future climate conditions: Terrestrial Animal Species Invasiveness Screening Kit (TAS-ISK). As adaptation widely employed Aquatic (AS-ISK), TAS-ISK question template inherits from original Weed Risk Assessment (WRA) related...
The tri-spine horseshoe crab, Tachypleus tridentatus, is a threatened species that inhabits coastal areas from South to East Asia. A Conservation management system urgently required for managing its nursery habitats, i.e., intertidal flats, especially in Japan. Habitat suitability maps are useful drafting conservation plans; however, they have rarely been prepared juvenile T. tridentatus. In this study, we examined the possibility of constructing robust habitat models (HSMs) juveniles based...
Abstract For effective biodiversity conservation, verifying the correspondence of conservation sites among taxa and identifying environmental characteristics these are essential; however, only a few such studies have been performed in estuaries. The aim present study was to verify surrogacy estuarine gobies crabs, identify tidal rivers high priority, describe their characteristics. Distribution data for crabs were collected from 158 Kyushu region, Japan. Three scenarios analysed based on...
The conservation of an endangered horseshoe crab, Tachypleus tridentatus, has been increasingly emphasized worldwide. Although monitoring T. tridentatus reproduction is effective for its conservation, the conventional system spawning several drawbacks. Thus, our study aimed to examine environmental DNA (i.e., eDNA) approach assess events. Six survey sites were set at sandy beaches Sone tidal flat, Japan. Visual observations events, i.e., presence/absence adult pairs or that foams, occurring...
Abstract The suitable spawning habitat of Tachypleus tridentatus was estimated and mapped for the first time using scientific modelling in Tsuyazaki, Fukuoka, Japan. A total 43 nests were found at five sites from 2018 to 2019. Of these nests, location information nine one used as ‘Training data’ constructing models. series procedures employed determine relationship between biological data their physical parameters estimate habitat. First, contribution rates (beach elevation, slope sediment)...
