This study examines the impact that participation in Food Stamp Program has on household food insecurity using data from Panel Survey of Income Dynamics. Two strategies are used to identify causal effect program. First, endogenous treatment models estimated state‐level errors payments benefits as instruments. This paper studies the impacts of teacher pay-for-performance (P4P) reforms adopted with complementary human resource management (HRM) practices on student achievement and workforce flows. The Food Stamp Program (FSP) is a cornerstone of the food assistance safety net’s efforts to reduce household insecurity, particularly among children. We examine dynamic relationship between FSP participation and child insecurity using monthly measures from Panel Study Income Dynamics, rather than annual measures. Findings demonstrate that increases in months immediately prior entrance but then partially recovers following months. These effects are masked when employed.
