Dehydrohelicenes are some of the most attractive chiroptical materials with unique helical chirality. However, to our knowledge, there no prior reports on their direct construction by asymmetric methods. In this work, sequential synthesis aza-oxa-dehydro[7]helicenes via electrochemical oxidative hetero-coupling 3-hydoxycarbazoles and 2-naphthols followed dehydrative cyclization intramolecular C-C bond formation has been realized. addition, an efficient enantioselective through chiral...

Abstract The electrochemical synthesis of hetero[7]helicenes including pyrrole and furan rings has been established. A single operation led to an oxidative heterocoupling dehydrative cyclization sequence afford oxaza[7]helicenes in 50–86% yields with 45–77% Faradic efficiencies. Their derivatization chiroptical properties were also investigated. magnified image

Leaf morphogenesis is essential for plant growth and development, yet the mechanisms by which viruses induce changes in leaf shape are not well understood. Rice ragged stunt virus (RRSV) infection induces distinct morphological abnormalities rice leaves, including tip curling serrated margins, through unknown pathogenic mechanisms. This study reveals that key regulatory microRNAs (miR164, miR319 miR156) their target genes (CUC, TCP SPL) exhibit entirely opposite expression patterns healthy...

The reaction of acetals with trialkylsilyl chloride (R3SiCl) leads to the deprotection acetal group, resulting in corresponding carbonyl compounds. Notably, aromatic dialkyl yield parent aldehydes and ketones good yields. conditions are very mild, allowing many acid-labile functional groups survive without any problems. Additionally, we clarified mechanism through an NMR study.

Abstract The adjustment of the main helical scaffold in helicenes is a fundamental strategy for modulating their optical features, thereby enhancing potential diverse applications. This work explores influence elongation (n = 5–9) on structural, photophysical, and chiroptical features symmetric oxa[ n ]helicenes. Crystal structure analyses revealed structural variations with extension, impacting torsion angles, pitch, packing arrangements. Through theoretical investigations using density...

A novel double aza-oxa[7]helicene was synthesized from the commercially available N1,N4-di(naphthalen-2-yl)benzene-1,4-diamine and p-benzoquinone in two steps. Combining acid-mediated annulation with electrochemical sequential reaction (oxidative coupling dehydrative cyclization) afforded this hetero[7]helicene. Moreover, structural optical features of molecule have been studied using X-ray crystallographic analysis, absorption emission behaviors were rationalized based on DFT calculations.
