Anaerobic digestion (AD) of animal manure is traditionally classified as a treatment to reduce the environmental impacts odor, pathogens, and excess nutrients associated with manure. This report shows that AD also changes composition fiber makes it suitable cellulosic feedstock for ethanol production. Anaerobically digested (AD fiber) contains less hemicellulose (11%) more cellulose (32%) than raw manure, has better enzymatic digestibility switchgrass. Using optimal dilute alkaline...

The effects of screw diameter, pilot hole, and material type on withdrawal load resistance (WLR) driven in medium density fibreboard (MDF) particleboard (PB) were investigated through using experimental numerical methods. Meanwhile, the results tests analysis compared with empirical equations. showed that (1) diameter had significant WLR, but hole was not; (2) equations proposed Eurocode 5 better performance predicting WLRs both MDF PB than other equations; (3) distributions wood-based...

The modification of chitosan (CS) has greatly expanded its application in the field medicine. In this study, low-molecular-weight was modified with arginine (Arg) by a simple method. identification Fourier transform infrared spectra (FTIR) showed that Arg successfully covalently attached to CS. Interestingly, Arg-CS identified as nanoparticles atomic force microscopy (AFM) and transmission electron (TEM), whose particle size 75.76 ± 12.07 nm based on Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS)...

The leavening of wheat-based steamed bread is carried out either with a pure yeast culture or traditional starter cultures containing both lactic acid bacteria and yeast/mold. use variable significantly affects bread's quality attributes, including nutritional profile. In this paper, differences in physicochemical properties, the type digested starch, production free amino acids, specific volume under three fermentation methods (blank, yeast, LP-GM4-yeast) were compared. digestion...

Lipid molecules and fatty acids were analyzed using lipidomics to understand the change of lipid structure metabolism in hepatopancreas Chinese mitten crab (Eriocheir sinensis). The crabs fed diets with four oil sources (palm oil, olive safflower seed purple perilla oil) for 8 weeks. Palmitic acid, oleic linoleic linolenic acid most abundant these types, respectively. Sixteen classes identified hepatopancreas. Triglycerides, phosphatidylcholines, diacylglycerols, phosphatidylethanolamines...

Single photon modulation has been proposed to overcome the defects of low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and slow process rate counting. In this paper, we present quantum theory single modulation, then experimentally investigate spectroscopy both in time domain frequency domain. It is found that SNR reached 150 approximately MHz bandwidth.

The pulverized lime/limestone injection by top oxygen blowing lance during the basic furnace (BOF) process has gained much interest in recent years due to its advantages helping slag formation and consequently promoting refining reactions such as dephosphorization. In this pneumatic process, understanding motion behavior distribution of powder particles is importance for regulating designing system reliably efficiently. study, limestone through a novel nozzles-twisted BOF proposed simulated...

A drug delivery system based on ɛ‐polylysine‐modified titania nanotube (ɛ‐PL‐TNTs) arrays was prepared. Polylysine the nanotubes’ surface can effectively bind with alendronate, a for treatment of osteoporosis, through chemical bond. The bonds are fairly stable in an acid environment and cannot easily break up physiological environment. ɛ‐PL‐TNTs increased amount loading by 9% weight. vitro release profile alendronate from showed significant reduced burst extended overall more than 15 days.
