Two of the main challenges facing current application press-and-sinter aluminium alloys are poor densification and insufficient properties such as mechanical wear resistance. In this work, Al–4.4Cu–1.6Mg alloy (wt.%) 5SiC/Al–4.4Cu–1.6Mg composite successfully developed through optimizing sintering temperature heat treatment.
