Two of the main challenges facing current application press-and-sinter aluminium alloys are poor densification and insufficient properties such as mechanical wear resistance. In this work, Al–4.4Cu–1.6Mg alloy (wt.%) 5SiC/Al–4.4Cu–1.6Mg composite successfully developed through optimizing sintering temperature heat treatment. The results show that relative density, hardness as-sintered increase with temperature. Under same temperature, density is comparable to single alloy. When 596 °C, both...

Abstract Titanium carbonitrides Ti(C,N) coatings were prepared by plasma electrolytic nitrocarburizing in an solution containing ammonium nitrate, glycerol and ethanol. The coating consists of outer compound layer inner diffusion with a total thickness about 100μm. compounds consist amorphous TiO 2 . corrosion current density the is almost order magnitude lower than that Ti6Al4V substrate 3.5% NaCl solution. hardness up to 2200HK 0.025 , which 5~6 times greater alloy. itself worn very...
