Abstract We have updated time series of liquid fresh water transport (FWT) in the East Greenland Current (EGC) western Fram Strait with mooring observations since 2015. Novel data been used to correct earlier estimates when instrument coverage was lower. The FWT (reference salinity 34.9) shows that increased export between 2010 and 2015 has not continued, but decreased pre‐2009 levels. Salt independent a reference is shown be sensitive changes. Between 2019, Polar Water (PW) an average 59.9...
Abstract. An improved understanding of the effects floating solar platforms on ecosystem is necessary to define acceptable and responsible real-world field implementations this new marine technology. This study examines a number potential offshore photovoltaic (PV) hydrodynamics net primary production in coastal sea for first time. Three contrasting locations within North Sea (a shallow deeper location with well-mixed conditions seasonally stratifying location) have been analysed using water...
Abstract We assess the contribution of flow over Northeast Greenland Shelf (NEGS) to total freshwater transport (FWT) through Fram Strait. analyze available observations since 2013 consisting hydrographic sections, new mooring data, and surface‐geostrophic velocity ERA5 winds. provide first seasonal estimates FWT entire shelf find a net southward between 47 56 mSv (reference salinity 34.9), or ∼40%–45% In summer, long‐term mean east 8 ° W cumulates 27 southward, there is no trend toward...
Abstract Fram Strait is one of the main gateways for fresh water leaving Arctic Ocean toward deep‐water formation regions North Atlantic. Monitoring transport through important to quantify impact amplification on hydrography in lower latitudes. We update existing time series from moorings western and investigate monthly interannual variability liquid freshwater (FWT, reference salinity 34.9), volume content between 2003 2020. examine composites correlations sea‐level pressure (SLP)...

Abstract. Environmental and climate science communication often results in the production of appealing but, at times, inaccurate statements, i.e. "bold statements". Such statements are common media, however, in-cases, used by scientists alike. We discuss concept such seeking to identify their origin purpose, as well benefits threats methods. By bringing bold context paradigm we argue that use is enforced urgent nature change have been proven useful raising public awareness mobilizing toward...
