Malagasy species of the genus Germalus Stål, 1862 were reviewed based on material different European museums. Comments description kinbergi (Stål, 1859) are given with new distribution data Réunion. Two species, banari sp. nov. and benyovszkyi described.
Germalus species of Continental Africa are now revised including redescription ghesquierei Schouteden 1957 and conradsi 1957. Two new species, oroszi sp. nov. telekii described.
Additions and corrections to original description of Umbrageocoris Kóbor, 2019 are provided along with the a new species its two subspecies: maai ssp.n. from Borneo Malay Peninsula timorensis Timor. Key known distribution maps included.
Apennocoris pilosulus Montandon, 1907 (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Lygaeoidea: Geocoridae), a peculiar representative of Geocorinae endemic to New Caledonia unreported since its original description is redescribed and illustrated based on lectotype (designated in the present paper) an additional non-type specimen. The placement this monotypic genus within subfamily discussed.
The representatives of the subfamily Geocorinae (Heteroptera: Lygaeoidea) distributed in French Polynesia are reviewed. Germalus ashlocki sp. nov. is described. First occurrence genus Geocoris Fallén and a Stål species from New Caledonia recorded. Diagnoses, keys discussion taxa provided.
Representatives of the family Enicocephalidae are living fossils order Heteroptera because their evolutionarily conserved morphology. Their taxonomy and systematics mostly problematic due to high similarity in exoskeletal characters relatively little data regarding multiple taxa. During examination soil leaf-litter samples collected during a land snail survey New Caledonia, specimens enicocephalid true bugs were found. The resulted discovery first known male representative endemic...
Abstract Cockroaches (Blattaria s. str.) were documented from numerous amber localities around the world, representing both extinct and extant families. Alienopteridae is an cockroach family known only Cretaceous of Gondwana (Brazil, Botswana, Myanmar amber) Cenozoic North America. Alienopterix santonicus sp. n. Late Ajka Coal Formation (Bakony Mts, western Hungary) extends rich geographical distribution into Laurasia during Mesozoic. As a member presumably pollinator cohort Alienopteridae,...
Abstract Expertise in biodiversity research (taxonomy, faunistics, conservation with taxonomic background) appears to decline worldwide. While the “taxonomic impediment” is discussed extensively literature, much fewer papers focus on identification crisis, i.e., decreasing number of experts who can identify species, and species-based research. As a test case explore gravity we chose Hungary, Central European country strong history comprehensive expertise output. We set out answer two main...
Three new species of the big-eyed bug genus Nannogermalus Kondorosy & Kbor, 2020 (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Lygaeoidea: Geocoridae: Geocorinae) are now described: N. herczeki sp. nov., pallgergelyi nov. and webbi Additions corrections to generic description were made based on newly acquired morphological knowledge. Key, diagnoses distribution data for provided. Ecological notes given collection site literature regarding other geocorid taxa.
A new representative of the extant family Yuripopovidae (Heteroptera: Coreoidea), Pseusocaulisoculus longicornis gen et sp. nov, is described. This monotypic genus morphologically closely related to Caulisoculus Zhang & Chen 2020 from mid-Cretaceous Burmese amber. We discuss its relationship other yuripopovinids, provide an updated key known representatives Yuripopovinidae and illustrate all species Kachin
The geocorine (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Lygaeoidea: Geocoridae) true bug genus Umbrageocoris Kóbor, 2019 is redefined based on new morphological information from newly acquired specimens. Two species are described: U. boonei sp. nov. continental Indomalaya and malipatili Australia; two combinations proposed: elegantulus (Distant, 1904), comb. , woodwardi (Malipatil, 1994), (both transferred Geocoris Fallén, 1814). Keys, diagnoses, distribution data to the discussed provided. Hypotheses origin...
Umbrageocoris gen.n. and its types species kondorosyi sp.n
Intraperitoneal surgical mesh implantation is required for laparoscopic ventral hernia repair. Composite meshes are well known in animal models and human practice. The aim of our study to compare the biological behaviour two different textured silicone-covered polypropylene meshes. Transmural abdominal wall defect was created 40 rabbits treated as follows: In 20 animals a with laminar silicone covering (LSPP) rest macroporous knitted silicone-impregnated filaments (MSPP) applied. One three...

Abstract The fossil record of the lygaeoid true bug family, Geocoridae so far consisted a compression from Florissant Formation, Geocoris infernorum , and mould Izarra G . monserrati Here, we report third taxon, Protogeocoris arcanus gen. et sp. nov. Cenomanian Burmese amber along with revision two previously mentioned species. study specimens resulted in erecting new genus, Eocenogeocoris to accommodate [ = (Sudder, 1890) comb. nov.], because its unique combination characters compared...
Abstract Germalus kozari sp. nov. (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Lygaeoidea: Geocoridae) is now described. Comparative notes, keys, diagnoses, and distribution data to allied Indomalayan species provided. greeni reported for the first time from outside of India Sri Lanka.
A synopsis of the geocorine true bugs distributed in Malagasy biogeographic region is presented, including description Geocoris (Piocoris) petofii sp. n. and proposal new synonymy (Geocoris) insularis China, 1955 = pallidipennis mauritii Stål, 1854. Keys, diagnoses, taxonomic notes, distribution data for discussed species are provided.
Abstract Platycranus metriorrhynchus Reuter, 1883, the first representative of predominantly Holomediterranean plant bug genus, Fieber, 1870 is reported as a new element Hungarian true fauna. Diagnostic characters and bionomics species are discussed.
The known distribution and habitat information of the three described species genus Thaumastella Horváth, 1896 (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Pentatomomorpha: Pentatomoidea: Thaumastellidae) are reviewed. In addition a fourth, undescribed is reported from South Africa (Western Cape). aradoides 1896, recorded for first time Egypt, Oman, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, states Khartoum Sennar in Sudan. Additional records namaquensis Schaefer & Wilcox, 1971, Namibia (Hardap, ||Kharas)...
