Abstract Background Erectile dysfunction after prostate radiation therapy remains an ongoing challenge and critical quality of life issue. Given the higher dose per fraction using stereotactic body (SBRT) there is concern that post-SBRT impotency would be than conventional approaches. This study sought to evaluate potency preservation sexual function following SBRT for cancer. Methods Between February 2008 March 2011, 216 men with clinically localized cancer were treated definitively...
Stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) is increasingly utilized as primary treatment for clinically localized prostate cancer. While acute post-SBRT urinary symptoms are well recognized, the late genitourinary toxicity of SBRT has not been fully described. Here, we characterize clinical features symptom flare and recommend conservative management approaches that may alleviate associated bother.Between February 2008 August 2011, 216 men with cancer were treated definitively at Georgetown...
Phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN) genomic deletions transmembrane protease, serine 2/v-ets avian erthyroblastosis virus E26 oncogene (ERG) rearrangements are two of the most common genetic abnormalities associated with prostate cancer. Prior studies have demonstrated these alterations portend worse clinical outcomes. Our objective is to evaluate impact biopsy-determined PTEN losses TMPRSS2-ERG fusion on biochemical progression-free survival (bPFS) overall (OS) in patients who receive...
Purpose: 18F-fluciclovine is a radiolabeled amino acid analog that preferentially taken up by prostate cancer cells. PET/CT scans are approved for the detection of biochemically recurrent cancer. Stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) increasingly offered treatment localized Limited data exist on patterns failure following SBRT. The impact scan timing before or after meeting Phoenix criteria unknown. Here, we characterize 18F-fluciclovine-defined recurrences patients with rising...
A bstract Background: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a significant respiratory disorder characterized by chronic inflammation and airflow limitation, leading to acute exacerbations that affect the morbidity mortality. Identifying biomarkers for predicting exacerbation frequency crucial improving patient outcomes. In India, COPD primarily associated with smoking environmental pollutants. Magnesium plays vital role in health may influence severity. Objective: This study...
Abstract Recent interest in non-invasive biopsy methods has led to many studies focusing on circulating, cell-free nucleic acids (ccfNAs) as a biomarker for cancer diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment response monitoring. Elucidation of profiles trends ccfNA corresponding pathologies states is likely be significantly enhanced through the simultaneous quantification protein biomarkers, however current technological limitations require these determinations done separate workstreams, introducing...
e17087 Background: Androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) has been shown to improve cancer control when combined with radiation therapy. Relugolix is an oral GnRH receptor antagonist that achieves rapid profound testosterone suppression. ADT cause several hormonally related symptoms resolve recovery. Hot flashes are particularly bothersome. This prospective study sought evaluate the timeline of hot following initiation a short course and stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) for unfavorable...
e17086 Background: Androgen deprivation therapy improves cancer control in combination with prostate radiotherapy. Relugolix, an oral GnRH receptor antagonist, achieves rapid profound castration. Both Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT) and relugolix can cause burdensome bowel symptoms. This study evaluated the incidence severity of symptoms following SBRT for unfavorable localized cancer. Methods: prospective received IRB (#12-1775) approval. Patients were treated at Georgetown per...
Abstract Objective To examine the independent and combined influence of individual‐ community‐level socioeconomic status (SES) measures on physical health outcomes in people with self‐reported arthritis. Methods From 2004–2005, 968 participants completed a telephone survey assessing status, chronic conditions, community characteristics, sociodemographic variables. Individual‐level SES used included homeownership, occupation (professional or not), educational attainment (less than high...
18F-FDG PET/CT plays a major role in diagnosis and staging of head neck cancer; however, FDG has lower uptake adenoid cystic carcinoma (AdCC). Prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) expression is found to be associated with endothelial cells or tumor neovasculature malignant AdCC salivary duct carcinoma. Thus, present study aimed compare the 68Ga-PSMA patients primary and/or metastatic AdCC.Histopathologically proven were intravenously injected 370 MBq (10 mCi) 111-185 (3-5 68Ga-PSMA....
Abstract We present the case of a 45-year-old woman with known adenoid cystic carcinoma right parotid gland, postexcision and postoperative radiation therapy. She was followed up on 18 F-FDG PET/CT, which revealed minimal local residual disease bilateral lung nodules, for chemotherapy initiated. Postchemotherapy, PET/CT showed metastases. As part ongoing project, 68 Ga-PSMA done additional focal uptake in cerebellum, missed FDG PET/CT. The brain lesion confirmed upon MRI.
Abstract Hypersensitivity pneumonitis (HP) in children is a common cause of interstitial lung disease. HP has been seen the patient due to inhalation different bacteria, fungi, and other particles, such as feathers various types birds. In our study, we observed that who were forced feed themselves with lentil-based weaning food had respiratory symptoms radiology similar HP. Here, are reporting nine patients admitted over 13 months persistent cough, breathing difficulty, not responding...
One hundred and fifty-one patients aged between 3 70 years with early stage unfavorable Hodgkin lymphoma were included. Patients received 4-6 cycles of ABVD (doxorubicin, bleomycin, vinblastine dacarbazine) chemotherapy involved field radiation therapy (IFRT). The most common histology was mixed cellularity (43%). majority had IIAX disease. IFRT doses 25.2 Gy/14 fractions 34.2 Gy/19 for adults a complete response (CR) partial (PR), respectively, while the 19.8 Gy/11 30.6 Gy/17 fractions,...
Tumor Lysis Syndrome (TLS) commonly occurs in hematological malignancies, but it is very rare patients with a solid tumor. In cases of tumors, TLS usually spontaneously or after the initiation anticancer therapy, and has high mortality rate. This syndrome consists constellation laboratory findings such as hyperuricemia, hyperkalemia, hyperphosphatemia, hypocalcemia known TLS. When clinical complications seizures, acute renal failure, cardiac dysrhythmias occur TLS, called The present case...
Advanced radiotherapy techniques have emphasized on the importance of accurate target volume localization and delineation. The aim this study was to determine time taken achieve moderate bladder under physiological conditions, using transabdominal ultrasound.Patients with cervical cancer undergoing radical radiation or without concomitant chemotherapy underwent serial ultrasound estimate filling. With a strict protocol consuming 1000 mL water orally over 30 minutes after emptying bladder,...
Majority of patients lung cancer present with locally advanced or metastatic disease, where systemic therapy is the treatment choice. Many these have local symptoms due to thoracic wherein radiotherapy proven be an effective modality for alleviation symptoms. However, optimal dose adequate palliation remains debatable. The purpose this retrospective study was assess efficacy two different schedules (TRT) respect symptom palliation.A total 100 consecutively treated stages III-IV fractionation...
