A new group of nido-carboranyl derivatives natural (S)-amino acids containing from 9 to 18 boron atoms was obtained in good yields as a result acylation 3-amino-1,2-dicarba-closo-dodecaborane followed by deboronation. The proposed approach is convenient and based on the use readily available reagents suitable for synthesis enantiopure amino with various side chains, including water-soluble boron-containing (17 examples).
The design of highly selective low-toxic, low-molecular weight agents for boron delivery to tumour cells is decisive importance the development neutron capture therapy (BNCT), a modern efficient combined method cancer treatment. In this work, we developed simple preparation new closo- and nido-carborane-containing folic acid bis-amides containing 18-20 atoms per molecule. Folic derivatives nido-carborane residues were characterised by high water solubility, low cytotoxicity, demonstrated...
Starting from achiral closo -carborane and using natural amino acid as chiral auxiliary, individual ( R P )- S )-enantiomers of C-monosubstituted nido -carboranes were obtained.
A new group of charge-compensated nido-carboranyl derivatives sulfur-containing amino acids and biotin has been synthesized in which the boron atom position 9 or 10 carborane is attached to a positively charged sulfur atom. The possibilities obtaining symmetrical B(10)-substituted asymmetric B(9)-substituted nido-carboranes were studied. Using example (S)-methionine D-biotin derivatives, water-soluble S-substituted with free functional groups prepared. results obtained open up prospects for...
Amino acids with unusual types of chirality and their derivatives have recently attracted attention as precursors in the synthesis chiral catalysts peptide analogues unique properties. In this study, we synthesized a new nido-carborane-based planar-chiral amino acid, molecule which group is directly bonded to B(3) atom, carboxyl attached B(9) atom through CH2S+(Me) fragment. 3-Amino-9-dimethylsulfonio-nido-carborane, prepared three steps from 3-amino-closo-carborane high yield, was key...
