Multi-task learning (MTL) has been successfully applied to many recommendation applications. However, MTL models often suffer from performance degeneration with negative transfer due the complex and competing task correlation in real-world recommender systems. Moreover, through extensive experiments across SOTA models, we have observed an interesting seesaw phenomenon that of one is improved by hurting some other tasks. To address these issues, propose a Progressive Layered Extraction (PLE)...

A one-step solvothermal process is developed to synthesize novel CoNi2S4 nanoparticles. When applied as electrode materials of supercapacitors, nanoparticles with lower cost production exhibit better electrochemical performances, i.e.: higher specific capacitance, rate capability, and energy density which make it a promising candidate material for next generation supercapacitors.

Recommender System (RS) is an important online application that affects billions of users every day. The mainstream RS ranking framework composed two parts: a Multi-Task Learning model (MTL) predicts various user feedback, i.e., clicks, likes, sharings, and Fusion (MTF) combines the multi-task outputs into one final score with respect to satisfaction. There has not been much research on fusion while it great impact recommendation as last crucial process ranking. To optimize long-term...

Constraints can provide additional aids to a multi-sensor integrated navigation system and hence increase accuracy of the solution enhance reliability system. To integrate constraints with data from sensors, traditional integration Kalman filter (IKF) needs be reconstructed. A new algorithm, so-called constrained adaptive robust (CARIKF) is presented, which implements upon direct fusion solution. In algorithm raw observations all heterogeneous sensors are corrected by pseudoobservations...

Species identification using DNA sequences, known as barcoding has been widely used in many applied fields. Current methods are usually based on a single mitochondrial locus, such cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI). This type of method does not always work when to species separated by short divergence times or that contain introgressed genes from closely related species. Herein we introduce more effective multi-locus framework is gene capture and "next-generation" sequencing. We selected...

However, did consider network coding wireless broadcasting, which recent works suggest have potential to significantly improve throughput. Here, we establish bounds on improvement provided by such techniques. For random any dimension under either protocol or...
