Currently beer is booming, mainly due to the steady rise of craft breweries worldwide. Previous surveys for occurrence mycotoxins in beer, were focussed on industrial produced beer. The present survey reports presence and how this compares More than 1000 beers collected from 47 countries, which 60% beers. A selection samples screened aflatoxin B1, ochratoxin (OTA), zearalenone (ZEN), fumonisins (FBs), T-2 HT-2 toxins (T-2 HT-2) deoxynivalenol (DON) using a mycotoxin 6-plex immunoassay. For...

Optical biosensors based on plasmonic sensing schemes combine high sensitivity and selectivity with label-free detection. However, the use of bulky optical components is still hampering possibility obtaining miniaturized systems required for analysis in real settings. Here, a fully biosensor prototype detection demonstrated, which enables fast multiplex analytes high- low molecular weight (80 000 582 Da) as quality safety parameters milk: protein (lactoferrin) an antibiotic (streptomycin)....

A multi-mycotoxin immunoassay-using the MultiAnalyte Profiling (xMAP) technology-is developed and evaluated. This technology combines a unique color-coded microsphere suspension array, with dedicated flow cytometer. We aimed for combined detection of aflatoxins, ochratoxin A, deoxynivalenol, fumonisins, zearalenone T-2-toxin in an inhibition immunoassay format. Sets six mycotoxin-protein conjugates specific monoclonal antibodies were selected, we observed good sensitivities no...

To study the molecular regulation of nectary development, we cloned NEC1, a gene predominantly expressed in nectaries Petunia hybrida, by using differential display RT-PCR technique. The secondary structure putative NEC1 protein is reminiscent transmembrane protein, indicating that incorporated into cell membrane or cytoplast membrane. Immunolocalization revealed present nectaries. Northern blot analyses showed highly tissue and weakly stamen. GUS expression driven promoter activity outer...

Multi-analyte binding assays for rapid screening of food contaminants require mass spectrometric identification compound(s) in suspect samples. An optimal combination is obtained when the same bioreagents are used both methods; moreover, miniaturisation important because high costs bioreagents. A concept demonstrated using superparamagnetic microbeads coated with monoclonal antibodies (Mabs) a novel direct inhibition flow cytometric immunoassay (FCIA) plus immunoaffinity isolation prior to...

Pesticides are used in agriculture to prevent pests. Chlorpyrifos (CHLP) is an insecticide with potentially detrimental effects on humans, bees, and the aquatic environment. Its have led a total ban by European Union (EU), but outside EU, CHLP still produced used. An indirect lateral flow immunoassay (LFIA) for detection of was developed integrated into cassette create device (LFD). Species-specific reporter antibodies were coupled carbon nanoparticles detector conjugate. Water samples mixed...

A combined (triplex) immunoassay for the simultaneous detection of three mycotoxins in grains was developed with superparamagnetic colour-encoded microbeads, combination two bead-dedicated flow cytometers. Monoclonal antibodies were coupled to beads, and amounts bound inversely related fluorescent labelled (inhibition format). The selected monoclonal tested their target cross-reactivity relevant metabolites masked mycotoxins. In triplex format, low levels cross-interactions between assays...

Mycotoxins are produced by fungi as secondary metabolites. They often multi-contaminate food and feed commodities posing a health risk to humans animals. A fast easy apply multiplex screening of these could be useful detect multi-contamination. For this, we developed semi-quantitative 6-plex immunoassay using suspension array paramagnetic colour-coded microspheres combined with imaging planar detection for the mycotoxins aflatoxin B1, ochratoxin A, zearalenone, deoxynivalenol, T2-toxin, HT-2...

Honey bee colonies have shown abnormal mortality rates over the last decades. Colonies are exposed to biotic and abiotic stressors including landscape changes caused by human pressure. Modern agriculture even forestry, rely on pesticide inputs these chemicals been indicated as one of major causes for colony losses. Neonicotinoids a common class pesticides used worldwide that specific kill insect pests, with acetamiprid being only neonicotinoid allowed be applied outdoors in EU. To evaluate...

An enrichment microsphere immunoassay (MIA) was developed, based on the Luminex xMAP® technology, for simultaneous (duplex) detection of Pectobacterium atrosepticum (former name Erwinia carotovora subsp. atroseptica) (Pca) and Dickeya dianthicola chrysanthemi) (Dcd) in potato plant extracts. Target bacteria extracts were enriched 48 h a semi-selective broth containing polypectate under low oxygen conditions. Samples subsequently incubated with antibody-coated colour-coded microspheres...

Processed milk and products produced from bovine milk, commonly contain β-casein A1 (βCA1) A2 (βCA2). Since the presence of βCA1 is linked to intolerance digestion problems, A2A2 which only contains βCA2, proposed as a healthier alternative. To support this health claim, purity A2A2-milk has be guaranteed. In presented study, multiplex immunoassay, able distinguish between βCA2 βCA1, was developed real-life applicability shown on raw samples genotyped A1A1, A1A2 cows. Because its ability...
