Novel red-emissive carbon-dots (C-dots) with broad absorption in the region from 400 to 750 nm are prepared polythiophene phenylpropionic acid. Upon near infrared laser irradiation, C-dots show strong photoacoustic response and high photothermal conversion efficiency (η ≈ 38.5%). These unique properties enable act as multifunctional fluorescent, photoacoustic, thermal theranostics for simultaneous diagnosis therapy of cancer. As a service our authors readers, this journal provides supporting...

The Wnt/β-catenin signaling system plays essential roles in embryonic development and the self-renewal maintenance of adult stem cells. R-spondins (RSPOs) are a group secreted proteins that enhance have pleiotropic functions cell growth. LGR5, an orphan receptor G protein-coupled (GPCR) superfamily, is specifically expressed cells intestinal crypt hair follicle. Knockout LGR5 mouse results neonatal lethality. LGR4, closely related to also has development, as its knockout leads reduced...

Abstract Cachexia, characterized by muscle wasting, is a major contributor to cancer-related mortality. However, the key cachexins that mediate cancer-induced wasting remain elusive. Here, we show tumor-released extracellular Hsp70 and Hsp90 are responsible for tumor’s capacity induce wasting. We detected high-level constitutive release of associated with vesicles (EVs) from diverse cachexia-inducing tumor cells, resulting in elevated serum levels mice. Neutralizing Hsp70/90 or silencing...

The treatment of diabetic wounds faces enormous challenges due to complex wound environments, such as infected biofilms, excessive inflammation, and impaired angiogenesis. critical role the microenvironment in chronic has not been addressed for therapeutic development. Herein, we develop a microneedle (MN) bandage functionalized with dopamine-coated hybrid nanoparticles containing selenium chlorin e6 (SeC@PA), which is capable dual-directional regulation reactive species (RS) generation,...

Fas-mediated apoptosis is an important regulator of cell survival, and abnormalities in this system have been shown to result a number human pathological conditions. A secreted member the tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily, DcR3, was recently reported be amplified lung colon cancers as negative apoptosis. We identified gene, which we call M68. M68 genomic DNA, mRNA, protein levels were examined series gastrointestinal tract tumors. Using immunohistochemistry scoring similar that used...

LGR5, a seven-transmembrane domain receptor of the rhodopsin family, is Wnt target gene and bona fide marker adult stem cells in gastrointestinal tract hair follicle bulge. Recently, we others demonstrated that LGR5 its homologues function as receptors R-spondin family cell factors to potentiate Wnt/β-catenin signaling. However, mechanism how enhances signaling output remains unclear. Here report following costimulation with ligands R-spondin1 Wnt3a, interacts forms supercomplex coreceptors...
