This qualitative study used in-depth interviews with 23 pediatric emergency room social workers to explore the interplay of primary trauma experienced by children and families secondary workers. The analysis a grounded theory approach developed conceptual model cycle trauma, whereby child family can lead workers' which further impacts on client care that may exacerbate trauma. To interrupt this cycle, trauma-informed hospitals should address both in rooms.
