Membranes are of interest for a wide variety applications such as gas separation, water desalination, fuel cells and batteries. Because the flux across membrane scales inversely with thickness, thick is required to achieve high selectivity, at expense permeability. New ultrathin membranes which promise offer selectivity permeability highly desirable. Elemental sulfur can provide five times higher capacity than existing Li-ion cathode materials based on transition metal oxides or phosphates....

Diastereomeric binaphtholato complexes with the composition [W2(bino)2(OtBu)2] (H2bino = 1,1′-bi-2-naphthol), anti and gauche isomers 1 2, are formed from reaction of [W2(OtBu)6] rac H2bino or (R)-H2bino respectively. Isomers 2 differ considerably in their thermodynamic stability: is stable at room temperature can be used for further diastereoselective exchange reactions, decomposes only a short time producing ter-butanol, isobutene, [W2{(R,R,R)-bino}3]. The arrangement tBuO ligands...
