This paper aims at studying the cyclic plastic behaviour of 7075-T651 aluminium alloy under fully-reversed strain-controlled conditions. The present paper proposes a three-dimensional numerical approach able to account for the effect of overloads on fatigue life extension in cracked geometries. procedure starts with analysis overload effects plasticity induced crack closure via elastic-plastic based node release technique. Then, relationships between opening values and growth rates are introduced into models, developed light adaptive remeshing concept, estimate lifetime.
