Abstract Despite the rapid growth in chiral ionic liquid (CIL) research, successful applications remained hidden for some time, but are increasing fast nowadays. The major part of this review deals with use CILs as solvents, catalysts or ligands asymmetric synthesis. Chiral recognition abilities spectroscopic techniques such NMR, NIR fluorescence spectroscopy discussed well application separation chromatography. In review, we focus entirely on CILs; publications dealing design and synthesis...
Biomimetic synthesis can be an attractive approach to access complex natural products by addressing challenging structural features through cascade reactions, which are inferred tangible biosynthetic hypotheses. In some instances, the originally proposed structure or path might revised synthesis. this communication we report a short and efficient bioinspired of Alstoscholarinoids A B, rearranged triterpenes from Alstonia scholaris tree. Salient include transannular aldol addition as well...

A series of surface-active ionic liquids based on the 1-dodecyl-3-methylimidazolium cation and different anions such as halides alkylsulfates was synthesized. The aggregation behavior these in water characterized by surface tension, conductivity measurements UV-Vis spectroscopy order to determine critical micelle concentration (CMC) provide parameters. determination activity properties amphiphilic accompanied SAXS studies selected liquids. application with tested nucleophilic substitution...
We present the dissolution of fresh fragrance biomass in ionic liquids for isolation essential oils and compare direct distillation with solvent extraction. Orange oil was distilled from orange peels dissolved liquid media, thus allowing a simple, efficient, mild flavor components complete recovery liquid.
Abstract The iron‐containing ionic liquid butylmethylimidazolium tetrachloroferrate (bmim‐FeCl 4 ) proved to be an efficient and recyclable catalyst for the hydroxymethylation of β‐keto esters using aqueous formaldehyde a low loading up 0.1 mol‐% without co‐solvents or additional surfactants. An useful high‐yielding approach hydroxymethylated keto as well 3‐disubstitued butyrolactones via tandem hydroxymethylation–lactonization could thus established.(© Wiley‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. We present an ionic liquid (IL) strategy for the reactive dissolution of star anise seeds using different Brønsted-acidic liquids as solvent and reaction media towards isolation important pharmaceutical intermediates; this procedure provides a single-step, higher yielding environmentally benign synthesis anti-influenza drug Tamiflu™.
By utilising ionic liquids the pharmaceutically active triterpene betulin can be extracted from biomass with significantly improved extraction yield and purity. The recovery of liquid 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium acetate via azeotropic distillation EtOH/H2O was successfully demonstrated.
We present the application of ionic liquid-aqueous micellar solutions as isolation media for pharmaceutically active ingredient piperine from black pepper. Several surface-active liquids including a biodegradable betaine derivative were used extraction piperine, and strong correlation between yield critical micelle concentration respective liquid was found. A scaled strategy developed that allowed recovery recycling aqueous solution five runs without any loss in efficiency.
Based on shikimic acid – the starting material for important anti-influenza drug Tamiflu (oseltamivir phosphate) we present that dissolution properties of ionic liquids can lead to better access valuable ingredient embedded in biopolymer. Different imidazolium-based were investigated, and extraction yield was correlated with their hydrogen-bonding via polarizable MD simulations, indicating hydrogen bonding IL anion is responsible a good performance. A scale-up strategy isolation liquid...
Hydrophilic coordinating chiral ionic liquids with an amino alcohol substructure were developed and efficiently applied to the asymmetric reduction of ketones. Their careful design adaptability desired reaction conditions allow for these be used as sole source chirality in a ruthenium-catalyzed transfer hydrogenation aromatic When this system, afforded excellent yields high enantioselectivities.
We report a novel and efficient strategy for the preparation of high-value triterpenoid betulinic acid based on extraction streamlined oxidation betulin from industrial by-product birch bark.
We present a fast and efficient strategy for DNA extraction from meat based on aqueous-ionic liquid systems that could extract in significantly higher yields compared to the pure phosphate buffer.
Starting from cheap chiral pool precursors camphorsulfonic acid and camphene, several imidazolium ionic liquids were synthesized in high overall yield. Both thermal microwave-assisted synthesis was used the quaternization step to obtain new (CILs) bearing a bornyl structural motif as cation. Furthermore, these CILs solvent Diels-Alder reaction of acrylic cyclopentadiene showed good yields diastereoselectivities.
A practical synthesis of novel coordinating chiral ionic liquids with an amino alcohol structural motif was developed starting from commercially available alcohols. These basic could be successfully applied as catalysts in the asymmetric alkylation aldehydes and gave high enantioselectivities up to 91% ee.
During the past few years, Lewis-acidic ionic liquids (ILs) have emerged from their role as mere reaction media toward a novel catalytic systems. Iron-containing chloroferrate in particular offer approach to sustainable and environmentally benign catalysis can be applied surprising diversity of transformations. In this review, we present emerging topic report application ILs solvents, catalysts or systems for variety chemical processes, with focus on reactions leading pharmaceutically active...
