Abstract Background Hereditary angioedema is a potentially life‐threatening disorder, because edema occurring in the mucosa of upper airways can lead to suffocation. The management HAE consists avoiding triggering factors, prophylaxis, and acute treatment edematous episodes. Medical procedures also provoke attacks, therefore, short‐term prophylaxis ( STP ) recommended before such interventions. Our aim was evaluate efficacy safety administered medical procedures. Methods We conducted...
De novo mutations (DNMs) have been implicated in the etiology of schizophrenia (SZ), a chronic debilitating psychiatric disorder characterized by hallucinations, delusions, cognitive dysfunction, and decreased community functioning. Several DNMs identified examining SZ cases their unaffected parents; however, most cases, biological significance these remains elusive. To overcome this limitation, we developed an approach using induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) lines from each member...
Here we describe the generation of induced pluripotent stem cell lines from each member - male proband, mother, father a schizophrenia case-parent trio that participated in an exome sequencing study, and 3 de novo mutations were identified proband. Peripheral blood mononuclear cells obtained all three individuals reprogrammed using Sendai virus particles carrying Yamanaka transgenes. These iPSC (iPSC-SZ-HU-MO 1, iPSC-SZ-HU-FA iPSC-SZ-HU-PROB 1) represent resource for examining functional...
Studies on neural development and neuronal regeneration after injury are mainly based animal models. The establishment of pluripotent stem cell (PSC) technology, however, opened new perspectives for better understanding these processes in human models by providing unlimited source hard-to-obtain tissues. Here, we aimed at identifying the molecular factors that confine modulate an early step regeneration, formation neurites progenitor cells (NPCs). Enhanced green fluorescent protein (eGFP)...
Abstract Background: De novo mutations (DNMs) have been implicated in the etiology of schizophrenia, a chronic debilitating psychiatric disorder characterized by hallucinations, delusions, cognitive dysfunction and poor community functioning. To overcome this limitation we developed an approach using somatic cell reprogramming to generate induced pluripotent...
Induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived neural progenitor cells (NPCs) are promising tools to model complex neurological or psychiatric diseases, including schizophrenia. Multiple studies have compared patient-derived and healthy control NPCs derived from iPSCs in order investigate cellular phenotypes of this disease, although the establishment, stabilization, directed differentiation iPSC lines rather expensive time-demanding. However, interrupted reprogramming by omitting...
Most studies focusing on neural development and the mechanism of neurodevelopmental disorders are based animal (rodent or avian) models post mortem human samples. Thus, observations derived from these cannot be directly translated into mechanistic insights regeneration. Human pluripotent stem cells, which can potentially differentiated any cell types body, offer a new perspective to overcome this limitation. In present study, we induced lines toward lineage. Using multi‐step, directed...
Here we describe the generation of induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) lines from peripheral blood samples identical twin sisters with type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM2). Two clonal each patient (HU-DM2-A-1, HU-DM2-A-2 and HU-DM2-B-1, HU-DM2-B-2) were established via Sendai viral reprograming mononuclear cells, characterized to confirm pluripotency genetic integrity. The iPSC can help investigate DM2 related cellular phenotypes provide a model system for drug testing.

Main source(s): Hungarian National Research, Development and Innovation Fund Introduction Smoke-induced diseases cause 20% global mortality. The toxic agents cigarette smoke have notorious destructive effects on the cardiovascular system. Therefore, many people use e-cigarettes instead traditional tobacco products; yet, nicotine content remains addiction. Purpose Human induced pluripotent stem cells...
